Product Release! CorkSport Mazdaspeed 6 Front Sway Bar

CorkSport is pleased to announce the release of yet another Mazdaspeed 6 product, the CorkSport Mazdaspeed 6 Front Sway Bar!

The newly released Mazdaspeed 6 Front Sway Bar will improve handling by minimizing body roll during cornering and reducing understeer by strengthening the lower suspension connection across the front with a larger diameter bar that has been engineered to match the stiffness of the CorkSport Rear Sway Bar.

The Mazdaspeed 6 Front Sway Bar is made from CNC machined 28.5mm 4130 steel and provides 70% more stiffness than stock front sway bar. The powder coated black finish offers long lasting durability and performance. The included polyurethane mounting bushings eliminate the sloppy handling caused by the stock rubber bushings and offer long life and resistance to common contaminants that would destroy rubber bushings.

“The Mazdaspeed 6 can benefit greatly from the addition of a front sway bar because of the tendency the vehicle has to understeer,” said CorkSport Engineer, Brydon Foster, “We engineered our Mazdaspeed 6 Front Sway Bar with our Rear Sway Bar in mind to promote neutral handling.”

The CorkSport Mazdaspeed 6 Front Sway Bar can be purchased as a set with the CorkSport Mazdaspeed 6 Rear Sway bar for $358 or can be purchased as a standalone product to compliment your current Mazdaspeed 6 suspension set-up for $199.

Product Release! CorkSport Mazdaspeed 6 Short Shift Plate

CorkSport is pleased to announce the all new CorkSport Short Shift Plate designed specifically for the Mazdaspeed 6!

Mazdaspeed 6 Short Shift Plate Complete Kit

CorkSport’s Mazdaspeed 6 Short Shift Plate has been designed to provide a 33% reduction in shift throw for more spirited driving. The unique design of our shift plate provides maximum benefit to Mazdaspeed 6 drivers by changing the geometry at the shifter end to remove the feeling of synchros where it is most noticeable, in gears one and two, and bolts directly to the car eliminating the need to bolt to the factory or an aftermarket counterweight.

Unlike some of the other shift plates on the market today, because the CorkSport Mazdaspeed 6 Shift Plate installs on the shifter end of the transmission, it eliminates any possibility of binding or rubbing on the shift links that shift plates installed at the transmission end may cause. It also makes installation a breeze, taking just 15-20 minutes install, allowing for customers to quickly transition back and forth between the factory shifter to short shifter if they so desire.

Speed6 Short Shifter

Made from precision machined steel plate with a powder coated black finish, the CorkSport Mazdaspeed 6 Short Shift Plate is built for lasting durability and good looks. It comes with all the needed hardware, full color installation instructions, and is backed by CorkSport’s full two year warranty.

Product Release! CorkSport Mazdaspeed 6 Catted Downpipe

CorkSport is happy to announce the release of our all new CorkSport Catted Downpipe for the Mazdaspeed 6! Check out the Downpipe V2 for the Mazdaspeed 6.

Mazdaspeed 6 catted downpipe

The CorkSport Mazdaspeed 6 Downpipe is designed to replace the restrictive catalyst in the stock downpipe and deliver improved exhaust flow for significant power gains and noticeable improvements in turbo response time and reduced backpressure. During initial testing, the CorkSport Mazdaspeed 6 Downpipe showed power gains of 26 horsepower and 32 ft. lbs. of torque at the wheels.

The CorkSport Mazdaspeed 6 downpipe is constructed from polished 3 inch 304 stainless steel piping for lasting corrosion resistance and reduced heat transfer to the engine bay. Unlike many downpipes on the market the CorkSport downpipe uses a unique divorced wastegate design that will reduce boost spikes and exhaust flow disturbances due to waste-gate operation.

The new catted version includes a high-flow spun metallic 200 cell catalyst and three O2 bungs to allow for the addition of EGT or other sensors. The Mazdaspeed 6 catted downpipe also includes the addition of the CorkSport Mazdaspeed 6 Racepipe, adding to the value and power customers can expect to see from the addition of this part to their vehicles.

If you have a turbocharged vehicle, adding a downpipe is one of the best modifications you can make to add power.   Our non-catted track version of the downpipe has been very popular with our speed6 customers so it only made sense to develop a catted version that daily drivers could enjoy as well.

The new optional catted downpipe is available for purchase from CorkSport’s online catalog at https://www.corksport.com/corksport-power-series-mazdaspeed-6-downpipe-en.html

Product Release! Mazdaspeed 3 CorkSport Adjustable Rear Camber Arms

Mazdaspeed3 adjustable rear suspension arms

CorkSport is happy to announce the addition of the CorkSport Mazda 3 and Mazdaspeed 3 Adjustable Rear Camber Arms to our growing list of suspension products!

Speed3 adjustable camber arms featuring spherical bearings

By replacing your stock camber arms with the CorkSport Adjustable Camber Arms, you will be able to adjust your suspension to accommodate for lowering springs or coilovers and fine tune your Mazda or Mazdaspeed to the appropriate camber setting needed to balance uneven tire wear and improve cornering performance.

The CorkSport Mazda and Mazdaspeed Adjustable Rear Camber Arms are made from reinforced high strength extruded bent steel tubing that is stronger, less brittle, and more durable than aluminum. The adjustability provides precision tuning by allowing for +/- 5 degrees of camber adjustment and can be easily adjusted while installed on the vehicle using just a wrench.

Unlike other adjustable camber arm options on the market, CorkSport’s unique design includes spherical bearings that replace the soft rubber bushings on the OEM camber arms, providing a true attachment to the suspension of the vehicle for improved handling and road feel.

“The CorkSport Rear Camber Arms allow you to fine tune your camber to exacting settings.” said CorkSport Engineer, Brydon Foster, “The ease of adjustability and the unique nature of the spherical bearings will provide customers with improved cornering control that can’t be outmatched by any other options on the market today.”

The CorkSport Adjustable Rear Camber Arms are available for all Mazdaspeed 3 and Mazda 3 vehicles.

CorkSport Product Development Update

As many of you know, here at CorkSport we always have products in different stages of development and recently have been splitting our time between two areas of the Mazda world, suspension and exhaust.

Because we support so many models, our time gets allocated between several different product lines to ensure we have parts coming out consistently to support our whole customer base. Today, I will be covering just a few of the items I have been working on over the last several weeks and give you an idea of what we have working in the pipeline.

Mazda 3/Mazdaspeed 3

This summer it will be time to step up, or drop down, to a new set of coilovers designed by CorkSport. They will of course be CorkSport quality and be optimized for most of our customer base. Adjustable height, adjustable dampening and front camber adjustment will be a few of the characteristics. We are also working on producing some camber adjusters for the rear as a separate product.

We have also been exploring many options to get internals or a fuel pump upgrade to market over the past several months and we have started preliminary testing and design of CorkSport’s own fuel pump upgrade solution for our customers. We are in the preliminary stages of testing and will be working through the development process over the next several months.

Mazdaspeed 6

Mazdaspeed 6 owners have been lacking options on the market for a front sway bar application for a while but don’t worry, this summer you should have that bar you’ve always dreamed of. Our beta car has had this bar on for a while and with a few revisions it is getting tremendous results in terms of improved handling and feel. We are in the final stage of development, are going into production now and expecting a full release of the product as early as next month.

1999-2005 RX-8

All of you RX-8 fans out there will be glad to know we are in the final stages of development for a single exit exhaust. It has been a long time coming but the drift style exhaust is almost ready for release. We are doing final test fitment now and have identified some beta testers that will be getting the parts on a pre-release later this month. The Beta testers will run the exhaust making sure they like the fitment and sound of the part and will help us to refine our installation instructions to make sure that they are easy to follow before we release it for sale to the public.

Keep watching the blogs because we will be sharing more information that will give and inside look on the engineering and development of many of the parts we are releasing. I will be writing an in depth blog on the coilovers and coilover development and will also be writing a blog on all the information we are learning about fuel pumps, including spill valves, relief valves, fuel injectors, fuel pump internals, and information on the cam that drives the pumps.
