Product Release! CorkSport Mazda CX-5 LED Lighting Kit

CorkSport is pleased to add the new Mazda CX-5 LED Lighting Kit to our growing list of products designed to enhance the look and performance of the new Mazda CX5 models!

This kit expands CorkSport’s line of LED light kits specifically designed for Mazda and Mazdaspeed model vehicles by adding a lighting kit that has been customized for the CX5 and designed to replace the standard yellowish lights with cool white/blue ambient light for an enhanced look in the interior of the vehicle and license plate lighting.

“We are the only Mazda Performance Company on the market right now that supports the new Mazda CX-5 models and SkyActiv technology,” said Rich Harris, President of CorkSport Mazda Performance, “The CorkSport Skyactiv Short Ram Intake, Skyactiv Exhaust for Mazda 3, and our new lighting kit represent just the beginning of what will be a full line of performance products to support the SkyActiv brand.”

The CorkSport Mazda CX5 LED Lighting Kit includes replacements for your dome light, map light, rear hatch and license plate bulbs and retains the interior dimming feature in the Mazda CX5. The bulbs emit a very white color with just a hint of blue that resides in the 6000-7000k color range.

This practical and attractive addition to the vehicle improves the look of the interior and generates less heat, will have a longer lifespan than the standard bulbs, and resists shocks and vibrations better.

This CorkSport Mazda CX5 LED Light Kit is an easy to install accessory that includes vehicle specific installation instructions and is at https://www.corksport.com/corksport-mazda-cx5-led-light-kit.html

Orange County Choppers All Mazda Meet 2012

In our annual pilgrimage to the East Coast, we attended the All Mazda Meet at Orange County Chopper this year on April 21st. The event was organized by Storm who works at OCC and drives a Mazdaspeed 3 (thanks Storm!).

This year had a record turnout of people with 262 Mazdas and 496 people signed up. The OCC parking lot and a chunk of the adjacent Hilton parking lot were full the entire day along with the overflow parking in the grass at OCC. You can get a good idea of the crowd size with the line to get the good bags.

We saw a wide range of cars in attendance this year but the most popular by far was the 2010+ Mazdaspeed 3’s. They were the singles largest group of Mazda model which attended overall.

Enough talking for now, here are the pictures…

I hear the A-team theme playing in my head when I look at this Mazdaspeed 3

69,000 original miles on this Rx2 and it looked great!

At the end of the day CorkSport had two awards to give away. The first was the CorkSport choice award (Unicorn trophy) which was given to Kevin F who has a great looking 2012 white Mazdaspeed 3.

The second award we gave away for the CorkSport Senior Citizens Award which was given to Steve K. Check out the video of the award presentation below,

Big thanks to Storm for putting on the show again this year and to all of you who showed up to the event and we got to meet.

Cast Your Votes for April’s Featured Car of the Month!

Over the last eight months we have highlighted some of our favorite customer cars in our popular blog segment “Featured Car of the Month”, including CJ Ramos’ Gen1 Mazdaspeed 3, Robbie Stiff’s Gen 2 Mazdaspeed 3, Domenique’s Mazda 2, Will Buck’s Mazdspeed 3, Josh Mackey’s Mazda 3, Matt Kellogg’s Mazdaspeed 3, Jordan’s RX-8 and Tony’s 2011 Mazdaspeed 3.

Until now, the customer car of the month has been selected by CorkSport, but this month we wanted to try something a little different and get our customers involved in the selection process.

We have two randomly selected customers that have submitted their cars for consideration and we want to know which one you think should be featured as this month’s CorkSport customer car!

This month we have two solid contenders for the feature:

Derek Katayama’s 2004 Mazda 6

“I went for a full JDM look to the car; including the aero body kit from Kenstyle of Tokyo. Derrick helped me bring in ALL the parts I needed to convert the front and rear of the USDM Mazda 6 to accept the JDM body kit.”

Samuel Martinek’s 2010 Mazdaspeed 3

“So far I have spent about $4k on my speed three and there are still plans for more!”

To cast your vote on which customer car you want to hear more about, simply comment on this blog post, our Facebook thread, or our Twitter Feed. The one with the most votes will be featured later this month in our April newsletter and blog.
