Introducing the Performance Lowering Springs for your 2016 and newer CX-9! Have you been wanting to improve the look of your CX-9, while at the same time retaining great ride quality and fitment? That is exactly what we wanted to achieve when designing the CorkSport Lowering Springs for the 2016+ Mazda CX-9. The CS lowering springs will drop your CX-9 approximately 1.45in (37mm) front & 1.30in (33mm) rear, giving it a much more aggressive stance. Not only do the CS springs lower your CX-9, they also increase the spring rate over factory springs to provide a 20% increase in the front and a 35% increase in the rear. This helps improve the handling characteristics of your CX-9 on twisty roads while not being too stiff for those long highway trips. Find out more of the details on the CS lowering springs for the CX-9 below.
NOTE: Vehicle is shown with factory wheels and tires with 20mm spacers.

The CorkSport lowering springs help reduce the amount of body roll that you experience when going around corners by lowering the center of gravity of your CX-9 as well as increasing the spring rates front and rear. This improves the stability of the vehicle and gives you more confidence when you want to push it a little more thru the corners.
Give your CX-9 a whole new presence and look with the 1.45in (37mm) drop front and 1.30in (33mm) rear. The CS lowering springs retain a similar rake to the OE spring setup to make sure that when you have extra cargo in the back, your CX-9 will sit level. The increased spring rate for the front and rear is not overly aggressive so it works with the factory dampening while giving you a more planted feel on the road. The increase of 20% in the front and 35% in the rear, still provides a smooth and comfortable experience when you are driving around town or are on longer highway trips.
When designing the springs for the CX-9 we tried multiple ride heights and spring rates so that we could select the best combo to meet our design goals. To maintain a nice balance of ride quality and a sportier driving experience, we selected spring rates that tailored the natural frequency of the suspension to meet our goals. This resulted in a front spring rate of 3.1K and a rear spring rate of 9.5k.
The installation and fitment of the CS lowering springs for your CX-9 is straightforward and directly replaces the OEM springs. The only modification required is to trim the bump stops and rear shock dust covers to account for the decreased ride height. Since we are starting out with an SUV with a tall ride height from the factory, after the CS springs are installed you don’t have to worry about ground clearance as it still has plenty to get around without having to worry about scrapping on anything around town.
The CS springs are made out of spring steel that has high tensile strength and also features isolators for the rear springs to ensure no new sounds come from the suspension during operation. The springs are also coated in our CS blue powder coating so they will withstand the elements and protect against corrosion.

Running these springs for half a year. There's some negative camber in the rear, any chance of rear adjustable camber arms in production?
We do not have plans for rear adjustable cambers arms for the CX9 at this time.
Does an alignment need to be done after install? If so, what are the specs that it will need to be aligned to.
Yes, you always want to have an alignment done after suspension changes. The car needs to be brought back to factory specs.
