The Mazda 6 Turbo Short Ram Intake & Turbo Inlet Pipe Combo available now! CorkSport has developed the ultimate Turbo Inlet Pipe (TIP) & Short Ram Intake (SRI) system upgrade for the turbocharged Mazda models 6, CX-5, & CX-9 equipped with the SkyActiv-G 2.5T engine. Designed as a complete and turn-key system for your Mazda. This performance intake system gives you the extra performance and turbo noise that you’ve been looking for.
The CorkSport Short Ram Intake & Turbo Inlet Pipe system drastically increases the overall flow potential of your intake system to efficiently feed the turbocharger (and future turbo upgrades). This is done by clever design, maximizing the space available to increase the cross-sectional of the turbo inlet pipe from the small OEM 2.5 inch to a larger 3 inch.
The CorkSport Combo Intake System combines years of experience and technology into one complete performance intake system from filter to turbo for your Mazda 6, CX-5, and CX-9. Combine this with the optional CorkSport Heat Shield for the ultimate and most complete intake system available today.

Designed to be the most complete system for your Turbo Mazda, the CorkSport SRI & TIP was optimized to fit like OEM and with the OEM battery tray. The main challenge of fitting the large 3 inch cross-sectional area of the CS turbo inlet pipe into the factory location was the battery tie down. The battery tie down protrudes into the path of the OEM turbo inlet pipe and further restricts the airway.
To accommodate the larger 3-inch cross-sectional area of the CorkSport Turbo Inlet Pipe, the internal height of the TIP was increased and an indentation was added for the battery tie-down, ensuring sufficient clearance when the engine moves under load. These modifications enabled us to install the larger pipe without having to switch to a different battery setup.
Improving efficiency is key to making power and all the air entering the engine must flow through the intake system. However, increased flow is nothing without precision and that is exactly why CorkSport only uses precision CNC machined aluminum MAF housing for the MAF (Mass AirFlow) sensor. This sensor must precisly measure the air entering the engine for safe operation.
While the competition is using small and crushed 2.5 inch metal pipe; CorkSport has thought outside the basic pipe. CorkSport’s long standing experience and technology led us to develop a turbo inlet pipe that optimizes the path to maintain a continuous cross-sectional area of a 3 inch pipe. This gives the CorkSport Turbo inlet Pipe a 64% increase in cross sectional area vs a generic 2.5 inch metal pipe.
Smooth, non-turbulent flow is crucial to achieving maximum flow potential in a turbo inlet pipe and short ram intake system. To achieve this, every detail of the design must be carefully considered and purposeful. CorkSport takes this seriously, including with the design of their TIP silicone couplers, even in the transition between the silicone coupler and the turbo inlet pipe. The step in the silicone helps to smooth the airflow as it enters the TIP, reducing turbulence and maximizing flow efficiency.
A high-flow dry element air filter with a dual element design is utilized to optimize airflow while maintaining excellent filtration capabilities. The dual element feature allows for an increased total filter area without requiring a larger filter size, resulting in improved filtering performance and increased airflow.

Thousands of street and dyno miles completed on various the various models Mazda 6, CX-5, and CX-9.
With the limited tuning abilities currently available we are being limited by the ECU load limits and controls. However, we are seeing faster response and turbo spool which shows the improvements in flow. This will be updated as tuning becomes more capable.
Roto-molding manufacturing methods are becoming more and more common in the engine bay for good reason. This process allows us to create complex and unique shapes which is key to maximizing the available space between the engine and battery. While this does cost a lot more to initially develop, the final product delivers much better results which was our #1 goal for the community.
Manufactured from high temp nylon and finished to blend into the engine bay for a more OEM look.
The CorkSport Short Ram Intake & Turbo Inlet Pipe system comes with all the necessary installation hardware to make the installation quick and easy. This includes aluminum MAF bracket, stainless steel TIP mounting bracket, and stainless steel T-bolt clamps. Additionally, step-by-step color instructions are provided for all models equipped with the SkyActiv-G 2.5L Turbo Engine, ensuring a painless installation process.
You can customize the appearance of your CorkSport Short Ram Intake & Turbo Inlet Pipe system by choosing from a variety of silicone colors and air filters. The front main silicone comes in Red, Blue, or Black colors to match your preference. The air filter is also available in the same matching color, allowing you to coordinate the look of your engine bay. Whether you want a subtle look or a bold statement, you can choose the colors that suit your style.
The CorkSport Turbo Inlet Pipe and Short Ram Intake were designed to work seamlessly with each other, but wait there’s more! Create the best and most complete intake system by adding the CorkSport Heat Shield.
