The Mazda 3 Turbo Oil Catch Can kit helps remove water and fuel vapor from the engine crankcase keeping these contaminants out of the engine oil. While the SkyActiv engines have a factory air/oil separator before the PCV, it does a poor job at preventing contaminants from entering your intake manifold, gumming up your intake valves, and causing poor combustion. If you want to keep the Mazda 3 SkyActiv engine in your new Mazda healthy, a Catch Can system is required to keep contaminants from entering your engine.
Designed for both Mazda OEM and CorkSport Upgraded Turbo Inlet Pipe systems.

The CorkSport Oil Catch Can receives input from the PCV valve and the valve cover breather/intake manifold. These two sources typically send oil, fuel, and water vapors from inside your engine’s crankcase back into the combustion chamber, causing less than optimal combustion and over time dirty intake valves. The CS Oil Catch Can capture these vapors and condense them in the catch can before the air is ingested by the engine.
The CS OCC is a dual chamber design that uses a built-in baffle to separate the inlet and outlet ports. The inlet is tangent to the inside edge of the OCC, which promotes the spinning/swirling of the incoming vapors and contaminants and causes them to condense on the walls of the OCC and settle to the bottom for drainage. The clean air then travels through the center of the baffle and out of the catch can.
Oil catch cans are especially important on turbocharged and/or direct injected vehicles to ensure long-term engine health, even more so if your vehicle is modified. While there is a factory air/oil separator, we have found that it does not perform at a high level. Check out all the contaminants our OCC caught on our Mazda 6 2.5T during the first 3000 miles after installation. Typically, all of this would have entered your engine which over time adversely affects engine health.
The CorkSport OCC kit was designed specifically to fit the vehicles equipped with the SkyActiv 2.5L (both Turbo and Non-turbo engines). Not only was the stainless bracket designed specifically for these Mazda chassis, but it is also in a location chosen to be easy to access and empty during an oil change. Plus, the location in front of the driver’s side wheel ensures short routing for all OCC lines. This means an easier install and less distance for contaminants to travel before being trapped in the OCC.
The CS oil catch can dipstick, ports, and end caps are precision machined out of 6061-T6 billet aluminum, while the body is constructed of cast aluminum. Each part is then coated black for corrosion resistance and a classy look. The supplied mounting bracket is laser cut and precision formed 304 stainless steel; again for superior corrosion resistance. Finally, the supplied OCC hoses are made from reinforced silicone for great resistance to heat, oil, fuel, and the elements so your catch can set up lasts as long as your Mazda!
