I own a 2012 Mazda 3 Skyactiv hatchback, manual 6 speed transmission. The skid plate does in fact fit and bolt up.

The oil drain plug and trans-axle drain plug are still accessible but not directly under the access panel.
Purchased this a little over 2 years ago, and I'm still happy with the purchase. Easily one of the best aftermarket parts to get for a Mazda 3. Construction is solid, and the aluminum has held up extremely well through 2 icy winter seasons and excessive road salt in Oklahoma.
Skid plate overall has a great fit and looks great. To answer the question of whether it fits front mount piping, it does very well. My issue is that there is only one option...aluminum. While its great for not adding a lot of weight and protecting the motor for stock height and slightly lowered cars, it is not ideal for cars that are aggressively low. The plate is pretty flexible since it is aluminum and I knew that when I decided to buy it but I really had no option since this is the only plate on the market besides fabricating one myself. If there was a steel option that would be awesome and ideal to actually protect the undercarriage of the car for someone lower than just drop-spring height.
At first the price pushed me away being its just a piece of molded aluminium but after I purchased and installed it its nice having the piece of mind I have some protection from damaging key components from road debris or large potholes, dips or bumps. Product came with all needed hardware for installation and very easy to understand instructions. Took about 40 minutes for install and no modifications needed it bolts right up. Must buy for lowered vehicles. $300 now could save you thousands once you hit that wrong pothole and find a puddle of fluid under your car.
Bought this last summer because I was on my 3rd set of plastic ones. This made it through a NJ winter and still holding up strong.
I found the instruction a bit confusing. The reference to bolts sizes in the instructions did not match the packing list. What should have taken me 30 minutes to install took 3 times as long. I had to file down the bolt holes in the rear to get the bolts screwed in. I had to repeat 3 times until it fit, and still it was a tight fit. Once I got things lined up, the rest of the install was easy. I would have otherwise given this product an excellent rating if not for the trouble.
What is required to install this on my first gen 2.0L Sedan? It notes that modification is required.

This looks great, I wish you guys made a skid plate like this for my Mazdaspeed 6.
Super easy install. It took about 30 minutes total with lifting the car and lowering back down. It doesnt come with nuts and bolts for the front holes that attach to the bumper so if you are like me and didnt have any of the original pieces, you will have to make a trip and get a few pieces. It all worked out great though and I am super happy with it so far. Bring on the snow!

To install the COBB FMIC, I had to cut some plastic fins off the inside of the OEM tray to make it fit. Will this fit around my intercooler?
