Get solid protection against rocks and road debris and prevent damage to key components of your undercarriage with the Mazda 3* and Mazdaspeed 3 Skid Tray. Made from 0.090” precision machined aluminum, the CorkSport Skid Plate will provide maximum protection while adding minimal weight to the body of your vehicle. This one-piece precision bent skid plate is angled for a tight fit and structural rigidity and is CAD designed to mount further back on the sub frame with extra attachment points so it won’t snag or hang up on objects under your Mazda.

The CorkSport Advantage:
  • One piece, precision bent angled design: Offers a more complete seal to handle harsh conditions and provide a smoother airflow under the front side of the car
  • Lower Engine Bay Temps: The skidplate has been fully tested to keep stock (slightly lower) engine bay temperatures and allows airflow to pass through the engine bay.
  • Ideal for lowered vehicles: The 3D CAD designed plate offers a lightly higher profile, which is ideal for lowered vehicles. Get a slammed look without rubbing off your new under tray
  • 0.090” precision machined aluminum: TMaximizes strength while adding minimal weight to the vehicle
  • Easy to access oil filter: Includes a large opening for oil to drain from the drain plug and has a removable cover for accessing the oil filter

Great construction, great fit. If you're missing hardware, don't blame CorkSport, I was missing each rear section of the old skid plate. Had to improvise, but worked out great!
With a 10 year old car, the rear mounts were in pretty bad shape. A little PB Blaster and elbow grease fixed that problem.
Skid plate overall has a great fit and looks great. To answer the question of whether it fits front mount piping, it does very well. My issue is that there is only one option...aluminum. While its great for not adding a lot of weight and protecting the motor for stock height and slightly lowered cars, it is not ideal for cars that are aggressively low. The plate is pretty flexible since it is aluminum and I knew that when I decided to buy it but I really had no option since this is the only plate on the market besides fabricating one myself. If there was a steel option that would be awesome and ideal to actually protect the undercarriage of the car for someone lower than just drop-spring height.
At first the price pushed me away being its just a piece of molded aluminium but after I purchased and installed it its nice having the piece of mind I have some protection from damaging key components from road debris or large potholes, dips or bumps. Product came with all needed hardware for installation and very easy to understand instructions. Took about 40 minutes for install and no modifications needed it bolts right up. Must buy for lowered vehicles. $300 now could save you thousands once you hit that wrong pothole and find a puddle of fluid under your car.
Bought this last summer because I was on my 3rd set of plastic ones. This made it through a NJ winter and still holding up strong.
I found the instruction a bit confusing. The reference to bolts sizes in the instructions did not match the packing list. What should have taken me 30 minutes to install took 3 times as long. I had to file down the bolt holes in the rear to get the bolts screwed in. I had to repeat 3 times until it fit, and still it was a tight fit. Once I got things lined up, the rest of the install was easy. I would have otherwise given this product an excellent rating if not for the trouble.
What is required to install this on my first gen 2.0L Sedan? It notes that modification is required.

This looks great, I wish you guys made a skid plate like this for my Mazdaspeed 6.
Super easy install. It took about 30 minutes total with lifting the car and lowering back down. It doesnt come with nuts and bolts for the front holes that attach to the bumper so if you are like me and didnt have any of the original pieces, you will have to make a trip and get a few pieces. It all worked out great though and I am super happy with it so far. Bring on the snow!

had this on my car for a month now and have to say the peace of mind is great but there is flaw. if u run a cold air intake u will need to fabricate a shield to fill the gaps on the sides between it and the factory plastic piece under the filter or it will get soaking wet in the rain like mine(not fun). if u run a sri not a cai your fine.

I have a 2004 mazda 3 hb with a cold air intake that bends down towards the bottom of the engine bay then back up and around and sits in front of the left wheel well / behind the bumper cover area. Will this this skid plate allow room for the intake or will it be in the way?
