Fitment:

Getting the optimal fitment for the CX-5 License Plate Relocation kit was key and that began with selecting the correct length for the tow hook screw. The tow hook screw is at a length in which it places the license plate bracket tight to the bumper, but still gives plenty of room to access the mounting bolt. We designed the stainless steel license plate bracket to have a slight angle so that it flows nicely with the angle of the bumper. It is also placed out of the way of any parking sensors so they will continue to function as usual. The license plate bracket also includes a quick detach feature so you only have to loosen the bolt a quarter turn to remove the bracket if need be.

Materials:

Selecting the correct materials was also a primary focus for the CS License Plate Relocation Kit. The tow hook screw that is responsible for holding the license plate bracket is made from steel that is then zinc coated to provide protection against corrosion in whatever environment you may find yourself in. For the license plate bracket we decided to go with 11 gauge 304 stainless steel to provide the strength needed to ensure that the license plate and bracket can’t flex or move around while driving at speed. Using stainless steel for the bracket also offers great corrosion resistance so that it will stay looking good for a long time to come.

Hardware and Accessories:

Included with the CS License Plate Relocation Kit is a stainless steel 19mm wrench that you can keep on your keys or in your glove box. We thought that this would be a convenient way of having the necessary tool on hand if you ever need to remove the license plate bracket. The wrench also features a bottle opener as an added bonus. The included hardware is all stainless steel and we have included tamper resistant screws that mount your license plate along with the necessary bit to install them.
