Long in development, the Turbo Kit for the 3rd Generation Mazda 3 and Mazda 6 is finally here. Currently designed for the 2.5L Skyactiv Engine equipped vehicles, you can transform your Mazda from a boring 160whp commuter to a (approximate) 280whp “Mazdaspeed” that Mazda never gave us.
Years of development and testing both on the street with our dedicated street car and on the track racing in the SRO TC class with our dedicated, homologated, racecar. We have thousands of track and street driven miles on the turbo kit, proving both its reliability and performance.
This is the only 100% turnkey turbocharger kit for your 2014-2018 Mazda 3 and 2014-2017 Mazda 6 from air filter to downpipe, this kit includes everything to take a stock Mazda 3 from boring to boosted. Not only does this include ALL the physical “turbo kit” parts, but also includes a boost gauge, boost control system, battery, and pre-setup tune for your vehicle to operate on premium gasoline fuel.

The only turnkey turbo kit for the Mazda 3/Mazda 6. By turnkey we mean EVERYTHING, which means you do not have to hunt for or DIY anything to convert your Mazda to a boosted setup. We have done all the work to make this the most complete kit available today. From air filter to downpipe, and everything in-between. This also includes the electronics to properly control the ECU and boost. Heck, we even threw in an exclusive “unicorn” swag pack with stickers, shirt, and hat.
Imagine adding 115-125 wheel horsepower and 80-90 wheel torque to your Mazda 3/6…now image getting to enjoy that added power every time you drive your Mazda. That’s what you get with the CorkSport Turbo Kit. A 75% increase in power output at your fingertips. This is the most cost effective power gains you will ever have for your 3rd Gen Mazda 3 and Mazda 6.
The entire kit is designed to work as a complete system, that’s how we have developed a turnkey kit without compromise. Everything started from scratch and thought through to achieve the best possible result for your Mazda6 and Mazda3.
A custom spec twin-scroll turbo is utilized for fast turbo response and the internally waste gated housing provided boost control that is quite and cost effective. Don’t be mistaken however, this turbo loves to make “turbo noises" that you can clearly hear from the cabin. Check out the videos to see what we are talking about.
Based on a MHI turbocharger, the CHRA is liquid cooled and oil-lubricated for long lasting durability. The compressor housing is finished in a black textured powder coat and the turbo comes to your door with the studs installed and the wastegate set to the proper spring pressure.
A cast manifold may not seem like the obvious manufacturing choice, but when it comes to durability, reliability, and performance a properly designed cast manifold will always outperform and outlive a fabricated manifold. That’s why we invested in a 304 stainless steel cast design.
Nobody wants a turbo kit that looks out of place in their engine bay… The CorkSport Turbo Kit delivers with a feel and look that is just “racecar” enough but could be overlooked as OEM with some simple black powder coated pipes. The simplicity and clean routing of the kit keeps your engine bay clean and tidy but will standout at the shows.
We’ve spent thousands of miles on various closed circuit tracks around the country with our 2015 Mazda 3 Racecar. Fully caged and fully sent, this is the original test mule for the CorkSport Turbo Kit.
While the Racecar is fun, it can’t be driven on the street legally, so we picked up this 2018 Mazda 3 GT to complete all of our street driven testing. With more than 21000 miles of street testing, we have been able to work out the daily driving feel and power delivery for you. The goal was a boosted Mazda 3 that can hit the track and take you to work every day without issue. That’s exactly what we’ve achieved.
Unlike other incomplete turbo options, CorkSport’s turbo kit includes a TurboSmart E-Boost electronic boost control system for superior boost control and boost curve to optimize power and torque delivery of your Mazda 3. This is important for a powerful and reliable car with the added boost. You can also monitor boost with the controller and the included boost gauge.
A custom fitment intercooler was designed for the Mazda 3 and Mazda 6 to fit like OEM and support up to 400hp worth of power. No major trimming/cutting is required and it fits behind the OEM bumper shell. The black finish hides the intercooler without sacrificing performance.
Turbochargers require an oil feed and oil drain for proper operation. The only routing possible for the oil drain was a custom stainless fitting that must be inserted into the OEM oil pan. To keep things as simple as possible for you, an OEM oil pan is supplied with the custom drain fitting already installed and ready to use. You only need to swap the oil pan onto your Mazda.
Simplicity is key when we are talking about a complete turnkey turbo kit for a normally non-boosted vehicle. We took that to heart with the design of the charge piping. Only two pieces of piping and four pieces of silicone complete the boosted plumbing. This keeps the install simple and the chance for boost leaks low.
High quality 4-ply silicone couplers and thick wall precision bent aluminum piping is used for reliability and performance.
Avoid the trips to the hardware store with CorkSport’s complete turnkey kit. All the needed hardware, small clamps, and accessories to get your Mazda boosted are included.
T-bolt clamps are used for all boosted and larger diameter connections for their superior clamping performance and durability. Small diameter connections use stainless worm gear clamps.
In order to route the intake system behind the battery, we had to change the battery. The included battery has been proven to handle street and track abuse along with the cold PNW winters. 550CA/450CCA make this compact AGM battery a great choice for your boosted Mazda. Stainless steel battery tray and ECU relocation bracket hold everything in place. If you are located outside of North America you will need to source a battery locally. Contact our sales team so we can get you specifics and also lower the shipping cost as it will go out sans battery.
This might seem silly…well actually it is, but that’s what makes it fun. We dubbed this the “Unicorn” project given its challenges to finally happen. One of the owners daughters drew a unicorn for the Mazda 3 Racecar and its stuck ever since. Now, when you boost your Mazda you get to be a part of the Unicorn Project with a unique shirt, hat, and stickers!
On turbocharger engines the exhaust size can have a significant effect on the overall power output. In the below graph you can see the result of using different size exhaust systems. We highly recommend upgrading to an 80mm cat-back exhaust for optimal performance. *OEM & 60mm Dynos were updated 5/18/2022 after optimizing boost targets for each specific exhaust setup.
It will take you roughly 3 days (22-26 hours) to install the 2014-2018 Mazda 3 & 2014-2017 Mazda 6 Turbo Kit.

We don't currently have plans to fit the kit to the NA CX-30, but that may change in the future.
What is the max capacity (psi) of the turbo from the kit
That will depend on your motor and what the tuner feels is safe.
Is there any possibility to upgrade the turbo include in the kit
There is not at this time.
Will the turbo kit fit on 2.5l duratec engine since it basically the same base
This kit is specific to the 3rd gen 2.5l.
will the OTS tune work if I add a high flow cat to make it street legal?
Would this kit fit on a gen2 mazda3? I know it says for gen3 but would it?
The engine and ECU are not the same between the generations, so it is not compatible.
Será necesario reforzar los internos del motor, cambiar bielas, pistones
Este kit está diseñado para funcionar con el motor original en su forma actual.
Any idea on when fitment for a 2018 year model Mazda6 will be verified, please? I've been eagerly awaiting for a few years now...
This kit is specific to the 3rd gen NA models. 2018+ Mazda6 is a 4th gen and would be a new project that we may look into in the future.
Has this been fitted to the 2018 Mazda 6 2.5L?
The 2018 is a 4th gen, it has not been checked for compatibility at this time
Are there any plans on making a catted street legal version of this turbo kit?
A catted option is in the works, whether it is street legal will depend on your local regulations.
Are you working on a kit for the 2019+ mazda 3 with a 2.5L manual as well? or can this kit fit on the newer gen?
There is a test fit which will be started late 2022

Im looking to turbo my 2022 mazda 3, are you currently in the owrks on one for that? Mine's a 2.5l non turbo
Since the 4th gen already has a turbo option, we may not create a turbo kit for that model. This could change in the future.
I really hope it does. Mazda is hellbent on not giving us that turbo with a manual transmission and i really want you guys to help me turn this baby into a speed 3. not to mention that your kit works better than the mazda's one based on the previous gen's numbers. I bet you could make a new one that hits 300 WHP.
2015 Mazda 6 MT?????......How Long???......Let's Make it happen!!!!!!.....My hand is on My Credit Card!!!!......
The kit has not been fitted and tested on the Mazda6 yet, we are working on that.
How Bad is the Boost Lag?
The kit design has minimized boost lag as much as possible, but under 3000rpm will experience some lag. For the safety of the engine and clutch, we recommend not "boosting" below 3000rpm and ideally above 3500rpm for better driving experience. Check out our "What to Expect" Video for more details.
Will I have Traction Issues with the added Power?
The Mazda 3 comes with a factory open differential and narrow 215 tires. We recommend wider wheels (8" to 9.5") and performance tires in the 235 to 255 width range for better traction for power/braking/cornering.
Can I use a Blow Off Valve or Block Off Plate for more Noise?
The turbo kit is designed to use a fully recirculating By-Pass Valve designed for the 2007-2013 Mazdaspeed 3. Use of non-recirculating Blow Off Valve or a Block Off Plate may cause operational issues and will void the warranty.
Can I return my Turbo Kit?
No, all sales are final. This was acknowledged by the buyer in the online purchase process.
What is the size and specs of the CorkSport turbo used?
The turbo used is a custom spec MHI based turbocharger using a twin-scroll internal wastegate turbine housing and anti-surge compressor housing.
Does the CS turbo kit fit my RHD Mazda 3?
We have not been able to check the RHD Mazda 3 to verify fitment.
What does the turbo kit warranty cover?
CorkSport brand parts are covered by a non-transferrable warranty. Please see the warranty page in our advisory sheet for details.
What cars does the CS turbo kit fit?
At time of writing, the CS turbo kit is only for the 2014-2018 Mazda 3 2.5L Manual. Automatics, 2.0L, & other vehicle fitments are in the works.
Will I have issues running the OEM clutch with the CS turbo kit?
An OEM clutch in good condition can support the increased power even during track abuse. However, OEM clutches with excess mileage or wear can slip during acceleration. Aftermarket clutches designed to support higher HP are available at CorkSport.
I got my car dyno'd after install and my power numbers are lower/higher than advertised. Why?
Every dyno reads slightly different depending on make/model/ambient conditions. Power increase from stock is more important. Our testing showed 110-120WHP increase from 100% stock to turbo kit with 80mm exhaust.
Do I need to get a tune or can I change the tune?
Each turbo kit comes with the CS "off-the-shelf" (OTS) tune and the required hardware to upload the tune. This tune works well for most people, however, there are a few situations where minor surging or hiccups can occur due to the lack of control systems when adding a turbo to a naturally aspirated vehicle. IF you want the tune optimized for your vehicle specifically you can contact ONLY DramaTuned for custom tuning. See our advisory sheet for full details.
How long does the turbo kit take to install? Do I need any special tools?
We estimate 22-26 hours of install time. Typically this means two people can complete the install in about 3 "normal" wrenching days (with breaks, distractions, & beverages). Check out the install instructions for a full tooling list.
Is the CorkSport turbo kit street legal?
The CS turbo kit is sold for off-road and racing use only as the kit removes the main catalytic converter from the exhaust. To use on public roads in most areas, the downpipe will need to be modified to include a cat.
Can I turn up the boost to make more horsepower?
The ~9.5psi peak boost is a safe level for the OEM Mazda fuel system. Additional boost pressure will soon hit the limit of the fuel system and is not within the parameters of the provided ECU calibration.
What boost pressure does the CS Turbo kit run?
Approximately 9.5psi of boost at peak rpm on a vehicle with an 80mm exhaust near sea level. Smaller exhausts and/or vehicles operated at significant elevation may not able to hit this boost pressure. See advisory sheet for full details.
What spark plugs are recommended & when do I change them?
NGK DILKAR8A8 are a 1 step colder plug that are supplied with each CS turbo kit. They must be gapped to 0.026" for proper function and should be changed about every 10k miles (every other oil change).
What other mods are required for the CS Turbo Kit?
The CS turbo kit can be installed on an otherwise stock car, however, to optimize your power and experience, we recommend an 80mm or 3" exhaust, oil catch can, and rear motor mount.
What fuel do I use with the CS Turbo Kit?
91, 92, or 93 octance MUST be used to ensure proper performance and prevent damage. Other octanes or ethanol mixes greater than the standard 10% cannot be used at this time.
Are there any reliability concerns with the CS Turbo Kit?
A turbo kit will put added stresses on your vehicle due to the added power and torque. The CS kit is designed to be as safe as possible however, pre-existing vehicle issues, poor maintenance, excess abuse, and/or high vehicle mileage will increase the likelyhood of issues with your vehicle. Please see our advisory sheet for full details.
What oil is recommended with the turbo kit?
Use a high quality 5W-30 oil is required for added protection for the increased heat & load that comes from turbocharging a vehicle. Oil with dexos2 certification is recommended to ensure the oil can handle fuel dilution that can be common on direct injected & turbocharged vehicles. Oil change intervals at 5k miles or less.
