The CorkSport Advantage

2021-up-Mazda-3-performance-lowering-kit

Stylish Ride Height:

The CorkSport lowering springs for GEN4 Mazda 3 turbo offers a great modified looking and substantial ride height drop. We went back to the drawing board and redesigned the springs to work correctly with the added weight of the turbo engine. For hatchback models, expect your ride height to drop approximately 1.5 inches front and 1.8 inches rear. For the slightly heavier sedan models, expect your ride height to drop approximately 1.5 inches front and 1.9 inches rear. Still have ride height questions? Give us a call we’re happy to help!

Ride & Handling:

Appearance aside, the biggest benefit from the CorkSport lowering springs is improved handling and driver confidence through the corners. A vehicle lower to the ground will naturally have a lower center of gravity which results in better handling characteristics. The stiffer spring rates of the CS springs further add to this to promote less body roll. Finally, the rear springs were stiffened more than the front to help promote more neutral handling and less understeer when at the limit of traction.

Spring Rates & Comfort:

We went through a few different combinations of spring rate and were surprised to find the best combination of ride and handling was actually the same as the non-turbo Mazda 3, mainly due to the same suspension design! The CS Mazda 3 turbo springs use a 3.4K front spring and a 5.9K rear spring. The OEM dampers are a little stiffer to suit the extra weight from the turbo motor which actually pairs really well with the stiffer rates of the CS springs. You really get the best of both worlds, better handling when you want it, yet a comfortable ride for the daily commute!

Fitment & Function:

The CorkSport lowering springs install right in place of the OEM springs with no need for additional special parts. The one caveat is you have to trim your OEM bump stops to ensure you have proper suspension travel with the new lower ride height. With this new ride height, we have had minimal issues with scraping on driveways or speed bumps. As long as you’re careful and take severe driveways at an angle you should clear just fine!

Materials & Manufacturing:

High tensile strength spring steel is used for every CorkSport lowering spring to ensure a consistently performing spring that will not sag over time. Each spring is powder-coated red for a great look and strong corrosion resistance. Finally, the rear springs include spring silencers to prevent any added noises.

2021 Mazda 3 Turbo Lowering Springs Installation

Love how the height turned out! Not too low and definitely does its job filling that wheel Gap. Highly recommend!
Want that lowered look without compromising any ride quality? Well look no further these are the springs for you! They have that perfect drop for that great look while also substantially helping keep the car planted in the corners! I've felt the difference! I've driven the Tail of The Dragon both on stock springs and these lowering springs and they really let you carve those corners with ease! Even have 3 other passengers in the car (4 people total!) And the car handled great! Compared to OEM springs which would make the car have a lot of body roll these really kept the car flat.
I just put these springs on my 2023 Turbo premium plus hatch, and together with the new Corksport CF spoiler, greatly transformed the look of the car! Much more aggressive and looks the way the car should look from the factory. I originally was looking at getting the Not so low springs as this is my daily driver but after comparing the looks of the two from the pics on the website I went with the regular lowering springs. I would not have been happy with the Not so lows and if you are already used to driving a lowered car the lack of wheel gap makes these the better choice. Install was pretty straight forward and went very well with no complications, the Corksport instructions are very good, and it also helped the car was new with less then 4k miles on it as well. After install not only am I pleased with the new ride height from a visual standpoint, but there is no ill effects to the ride quality at all, and the car immediatly handled better, flatter, and no longer felt like it was on stilts. I am coming from a 2006 3 with a lowered suspention (konis and ebachs) that was the best handling FWD car I've ever driven and driving this car was a little disappointed that it was not as nimble as my old 3. After adding these springs we are much closer to my old car. Still not as nimble or tossable but that is the result of having the torsion bar suspention and being heavier. Much much better then stock though. I will be installing the Corksport rear sway bar soon and hopefully that will get a bit closer. Overall very happy with these springs, if you want to make your car handle better and look much better get these you will not regret it!
On the fence about lowering springs? Previous experience with other brands have you thinking against them because too low or rides like a Walmart hobby horse? Go ahead and slap that spring compressor to you head and squeeze those negative thoughts out because these puppies rewrite the book on ride quality. No bouncing around pot holes or feeling like someone replaced the asphalt with a trampoline, The improve on the already great OE ride quality and inject the sport compact response you want out of a daily driver that can puff it's chest in the corners
I installed these springs about a month ago and love them. I've received multiple compliments from random people about how cool the car looks lowered.
These springs definitely improve cornering performance with reduced body roll. I complemented the springs with the front strut bar which also provides more rigidity. I recommend the strut bar.
I've had no noise issues post install. You will notice bumps a bit more but overall, the ride is great.
I've had these springs installed on my car for several months now and love them! The install was rather straight forward, with only minor issues.

Let's face it: the stock ride height and wheel gap is quite atrocious. Nevertheless, I didn't want my car to be super low or stiff, either. Thankfully, these fulfilled a perfect balance of performance and comfort!

I did have an issue after install with two of the front springs' coils 'smacking' each other when going over certain bumps; however, after installing some additional isolator material provided by Corksport (thank you!), the issue was resolved.

Overall, I am very happy with these springs!
Love the springs. Lowers it to a perfect height in my view. Not overly stiff either.
I have had my springs on for alittle over a month now. They settled very nicely and my overall ride quality is so much more enjoyable. My favorite part about them is the performance during turns and corners. If you want a better driving experience definitely get these!!!
Car looks great lowered! Suspension is tighter around corners but you can feel bumps more easily. A noticable "click" happens when hitting a speed bump or notiable dip in the road. I'm not sure if it is user install error or just the springs breaking in. Also, when installing, hammering down the knuckle did present an issue. A piece of metal from the paint (from the knuckel) fell down into the hole where the wheel sensor sits. This metalic piece caused the wheel sensor to fail and set off my check engine light. I could not figure out what the issue was, and ended up paying a dealership 300 bucks to figure out that metal was throwing off the magentic sensors. This may have been fixed on my own by using a can of dust off or a magnet to grab the metal pieces that fell down in there. This was no fault of corksport. However, I would like to make the issue known in case anyone else runs into that problem! Thanks!
does exactly what it is designed... eliminated the gap and completed the look of the car

I installed the red turbo lowering springs on my 2023 turbo hatchback following the instructions. The front fitment is as expected, but the rear sits higher than stock.
