Fitment Focused:

The CorkSport SRI & TIP upgrade for your Turbo Mazda CX-9 provides quality that fits the performance. It is designed to integrate seamlessly with OEM components, including the battery tray. One of the main challenges increasing the airflow while keeping the factory layout of the engine. The battery tie-down, which protrudes into the path of the OEM turbo inlet pipe, further restricts airflow. Our solution was the large 3-inch cross-sectional area of the CS turbo inlet pipe that fits within the engine without requiring modification.

To accommodate the larger 3-inch cross-sectional area of the CorkSport Turbo Inlet Pipe, we increased the internal height of the TIP and added an indentation for the battery tie-down. This ensures sufficient clearance when the engine moves under load. These modifications allow for the installation of the larger pipe without needing to switch to a different battery setup.

Precision MAF Housing:

The MAF housing is a critical component in improving the efficiency of the CX-9. Since a clear path is required for accurate sensor reading, we've designed precision CNC-machined aluminum MAF (Mass AirFlow) housings for the MAF sensor. This ensures that the airflow is smooth and fast-flowing for accurate reading. The result is a clear and accurate reading that allows your Mazda to operate efficiently.

Design Logic:

Innovation is at the forefront of developing the turbo inlet pipe and SRI combo. Instead of adopting the basic crushed 2.5-inch metal pipe we've seen produced by others, we wanted to find out how we can add more power. By leveraging our experience in CAD design and airflow modeling, we landed on a continuous 3-inch cross-sectinoal design. This design resulted in a 64% improvement in area resulting in a significant increase in the performance of the CX-9

Smooth Flow:

To achieve maximum flow potential in the CX-9 turbo inlet pipe and short ram intake system, smooth, non-turbulent airflow is essential. Every design detail must be meticulously planned and purposeful. CorkSport takes this to heart, especially in the design of the TIP silicone couplers. The transition between the silicone coupler and the turbo inlet pipe is carefully crafted, with a step in the silicone to smooth the airflow as it enters the TIP, reducing turbulence and maximizing flow efficiency.

Dual Element Air Filter:

A high-flow dry-element air filter featuring a dual-element design boosts airflow while providing excellent filtration. This dual-element setup expands the overall filter area without requiring a larger filter, resulting in improved filtration efficiency and enhanced airflow.

Testing & Validation:

Thousands of street and dyno miles completed on various models Mazda 6, CX-5, and CX-9.

With the limited tuning abilities currently available, we are being limited by the ECU load limits and controls. However, we are seeing faster response and turbo spool, which shows the improvements in flow. This will be updated as tuning becomes more available.

Rotomolding Technology:

Roto-molding manufacturing methods are increasingly popular in the engine bay, and for good reason. This process enables the creation of complex and unique shapes, crucial for maximizing the available space between the engine and battery. Although it incurs higher initial development costs, the final product delivers significantly better results, aligning with our top goal for the community.

Manufactured from high-temperature nylon and finished to blend into the engine bay for a more OEM look.

Hardware:

The Turbo inlet and intake system comes with all the essential hardware for a quick and easy installation. This includes an aluminum MAF bracket, a stainless steel TIP mounting bracket, and stainless steel T-bolt clamps. Additionally, step-by-step digital color instructions are provided for all models equipped with the SkyActiv-G 2.5L Turbo Engine, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free installation process.

Color Options:

The front main silicone is available in Red, Blue, or Black, allowing you to match the look to your preference.
