My Speed6 had the old turbo intake taken off multiple times in the past year, and the OEM rubber coupler had turned to plastic, so each time it sealed less efficiently and was certainly letting air in post-MAF. Since they don’t make OEM replacements you basically need something aftermarket.
This piece fits pretty well, but again being installed on a Speed6 there were some things missing from the CS instructions and minor fitment issues that don’t hurt function, but will require you removing and replacing factory that you may not have replacements for on hand.
1. It really should come with the little rubber isolator that bolts and secures it near the HPFP. By now most are rubber and mine got shredded trying to get it out of the old, but even worse trying to get it installed on the new. Had to improvise with o-rings.
2. BPV recirc hose barb doesn’t have a lip, so you need to crank it down with a hose clamp instead of the OEM spring clamp… and it so close to the thermostat housing compared to before that a hose clamp barely slid past into position.
3. The Speed6 has hard plastic wire loom that attaches to the OEM pipe, that is not included, and the other attachment point is a metal bracket that needs to be removed, so now that plastic is rattling free in my engine bay. I had to get some zip-ties to stop rattle and stop any strain that may be put on connectors as a result.
Again the part is solid and works, CS does design really well, and tests their parts heavily on Speed3, but this is another where Speed6 owners should prepare to have a way to get off-the-shelf parts at store and will need to be mechanically inclined enough to improvise some during install.
