If performance and reliability are important to you then an oil catch can is a critical component for your 2014+ Mazda3, or 2013-2017 Mazda6 SkyActiv engine. Cylinder blow by gases and oil vapor build up in the engine crank case during normal and spirited driving situations. The OE design utilizes a PCV valve to pull these gases and vapors into the intake manifold to be recycled through the combustion process. A byproduct of this process is excessive buildup of contaminants in the intake manifold and cylinder head, especially on the top of the intake valves. This causes negative effects on performance and efficiency as well as potentially causing expensive servicing or repair. Performance Design

The CorkSport OCC dual chamber design separates the inlet and outlet ports by a center pass through disc. This promotes the incoming gases, vapors, and contaminates to spin and condense on the outside wall before the air passes through the separation disc. The resulting fluids pool in the bottom of the OCC for drainage.

The OCC body, ports and dip stick are manufactured from 6061-T6 billet aluminum with internal and external brackets manufacturer from stainless steel for long lasting durability.

Installation note: If you live in an area which gets below zero you need to empty the catch can before the temperatures drop to maintain the functionality.
Replacing the OEM PCV system with an aftermarket Oil Catch Can System may allow smells of gasoline and oil to ventilate into the engine bay and thus the cabin depending on HVAC settings; this is normal of an Oil Catch Can System especially during idling situations and after shutting off the engine. If excessive smell is noticed, inspect hose connections and drain the catch can.
Recommended to inspect & verify the PCV is working correctly when installing the OCC Kit. Replace if needed.

A necessary upgrade especially if you do frequent short drives or are going for a forced induction setup. Emptying this every oil change is a fairly accurate instruction as you should see a half cup to a full cup of drainage. This product clearly does it's job as long as you follow the provided instructions.

If you want to ensure that your motor stays in tip-top shape, and avoid any bad contaminants getting thrown back into your motor this OCC is perfect. Super solid construction, an ample amount of hose included for the install, and very simple yet effective mounting solution. I can drain my OCC in less than 5 minutes by just jacking up the corner of my car enough for me to get underneath where it sits, removing a couple screws on the underbody, and cracking open the drain valve while holding a cup underneath. After seeing what comes out of that thing, I am so glad I installed it!

Great Quality and instructions make it easy to install. Took me about 2 hours but I also wanted to make sure that I did everything correctly. Otherwise car has been running perfect now for 3 weeks and it seems to be doing it's job at catching any of the extra crud.
