Hi, I live in Hell (Las Vegas) and the summers here can easily reach 117+ degrees. I also travel a lot coast to coast in my Manual 2011 Mazda 2. Will having this mod have any negative effect on my ECM since air is not being pulled past it. I mean surely Mazda made it built into the airbox to cool it with passing air, Right? So if you take it off the intake tube in the front and also eliminate the pull of air from the intake wouldn't that screw things up a bit? Otherwise it just bakes in a hot plastic container above the engine.
Once you are moving, the intake temps will be lower than the ambient air. Only when idling for extended periods of time would you potentially start to see a heat issue.

Does this fit the 1.3L variant of mazda 2?
Yes it does
Love everything I got from corksport. is this air duct only for manual?? had a hard time to fit into an automatic
You have to adjust the trans dipstick tube to fit it.
Would the Mazda 2 Short ram intake fit and work on the 2010 1.3 model?
If you have the CorkSport intake then yes it will.
how does the ecm get cooled?
There is enough ventilation that the ECU does not get too hot.
Does this fit the 1.3L variant of mazda 2?

You need one of these for the 2.0L Skyactives on the CX5 and M3

Works great! Crams plenty of air into the intake, adds a couple horsepower and makes the engine bay look more refined.

Is this gonna fit my mazda from 2008? :)
>>CorkSport Reply: If you have our Mazda 2 SRI it should fit your 2008 model.

I was just wondering, the stock intake lets air pass the the ECU box for cooling it. Since you have SRI and the Air Duct now, won't it affect the ECU temperature and it's operation?
CorkSport Reply:If you pull the ECU out and look at it there is no cooling effect. The installation of the SRI will not affect its operation.

Looks great under the hood and does the job it's made for. An other great product from Corksport :)

Love it. Is a wonderful addition to the SRI. Love the appearance it gives my engine bay. Only thing was the battery cables didn't fit through the gap in the back, so I had to run it along the side of the duct.

will his fit on any short ram intake??
2013 skyactiv on fo instance?
CorkSport Reply:This only fits the Mazda 2.

This was one of my favorite CS releases for the 2.. compliments their intake perfectly. Don't buy the intake without adding this. A must have!

DO NOT WAIT TO GET THIS! Improves the overall look of the intake system!

Pretty straight forward install. One of my issues was trying align the bolt that holds the coolant reservoir. Solid piece and does provide cooler temps 8-10° cooler!
Enhances the otherwise plain engine bay!
