is a custom tune required for installing this on the mazdaspeed3? also, do i need hpfp internals for this mod? will i risk blowing the engine if i run th racepipe on a stock mazdaspeed without the hpfp internals AND a matching tune? please answer both questions.
The racepipe on its own will not require a tune. If you have other flow mods in additional to a race pipe a tune will become more necessary. HPFP are also not required for just installing a racepipe. ALTHOUGH HPFP internals are strongly recommended even on a stock car.
What is the size of the threading for the spring bolts on the side of the racepipe that connects to the catback exhaust?
M10x1.25 70mm bolt x2 M10 x 1.25 Nut x2 M10 Washers 31mmOD x2
I have the corksport cat back. If I get a full size downpipe is this just redundant?
Yes, you get a full size down pipe you would not need the racepipe.
is this racepipe street legal in illinois? DOT and DMV doesn't state this product on their website.
We can't guarantee the exhaust components are legal in your area. It is specifically designed to replace a catalytic converter, that should help you find the answer you are looking for in your local regluations.
I have a corksport short downpipe.. which flange do I need to select if I still have stock catback but the corksport short downpipe?
If the catback is stock, you need the smaller flange.
If I bought the corksport short down pipe what size flange should I get for the racepipe?
The flange is in relation to your exhaust. Aftermarket cat back exhausts will make with the 80mm, OEM takes the smaller version.
If i want to put this racepipe on stock downpipe but i already got cobb catback exhaust what fitment should i chose? (i dont want to change whole downpipe with cobb)
You need the 80mm option
If I purchase this racepipe, which fitment size should I choose if I want to keep the stock downpipe but install a CorkSport catback exhaust?
You need the 80mm version.
Is the stock fitment option still a 3" pipe but with stock flanges? Or is the entire pipe stock size (2.5")?
It is a 80mm pipe and tapers to 2.5 to fit the OEM flange.
