Intake Manifold

Reintroducing the CorkSport Intake Manifold V2 for the DISI-MZR engine found in the Mazdaspeed 3 and Mazdaspeed 6. First impressions will quickly tell you this is a very different design and design goal than typically found in the performance aftermarket options for the MS3 and MS6; that’s for good reason. The CorkSport Intake Manifold takes performance and OE fitment and combines them to create a combination that performs and fits without compromise. Equal flow, higher flow, tighter packaging, and TMIC fitment are aspects that define the CorkSport Intake Manifold.

Combined with the newly added port fuel injection provisions and optional fuel rail kit, you can now add Injector Dynamics injectors for additional fueling.

The CorkSport Advantage
CorkSport Intake Manifold for Mazdaspeed

Fitment Inspired:

We know modifying additional components to install a new performance part can be a real PITA; we worked hard to design a performance intake manifold that does not require extensive modification to use. The CorkSport Intake Manifold installs nearly identical to an OE IM plus difficult-to-access hardware locations on the flange have been cleared for improved installation.

The following components are in OE location and install like OE:

  1. 70mm Throttle Body w/included Hardware
  2. Oil Dipstick Mount
  3. MAP Sensor
  4. PCV Port w/include Barb Fitting
  5. Top Mount Intercooler (TMIC) Mounts (hardware not included & TMIC cannot be used with port injection)
  6. Lower Mounting Brace

Mazdaspeed Intake Manifold

Design Focused:

The CorkSport Intake Manifold may fit like OE, but that’s where the similarities end. The CS IM is designed with performance and drive-ability in mind with the larger plenum design and long even flow cylinder runners.

The intake plenum is 3x larger than OE which improves high RPM power capacity without sacrificing throttle response and driveability. The cylinder runners are longer than the typical aftermarket intake manifold to improve mid-range power while still having peak RPM capacity with the single runner design vs the OE split runner.

Mazdaspeed Intake Manifold with Fuel Rail

Auxiliary Fueling Support:

Newly added, the CorkSport V2 Intake Manifold features two auxiliary fueling solutions.

  1. Standard 1/8-27 NPT threaded ports are located on each runner for use with methanol nozzles or other fueling options. These allow for TMIC and FMIC clearance.
  2. Port Injection provisions have been incorporated in the design for easy use of Injector Dynamics injectors for high-power additional fueling. To use the port injection provisions you must also use the CorkSport Fuel Rail kit. (Injectors and tuning solution not included)

Intake Manifold Flow Simulation

Balanced Flow:

Balanced flow is critical to the durability and performance of an engine; this is why the CorkSport Intake Manifold is such a valuable performance component for the Mazdaspeed engine. The OE Intake Manifold has a significant flow imbalance between the 4 cylinders which causes cylinders to run excessively lean or rich, affecting engine durability and performance.

Check out the graph to see the difference. Not only does the CorkSport Intake Manifold outflow the OE design by 70CFM on average, but it also significantly reduces the flow imbalance to 2% or less vs the OE imbalance of 21%. This means your engine can run stronger longer and have a higher potential to make power.

  1. CorkSport Intake Manifold: 275CFM per Runner Average @ 2% Imbalance
  2. OE Intake Manifold: 205CFM per Runner Average @ 21% Imbalance

Intake Manifold Dyno Graph

Performance Driven:

The increased flow capacity and even flow between the cylinders provided by the CorkSport Intake manifold help increase power across the entire RPM range and spool the turbo ~100 RPM faster than OE. The graph to the right shows the difference in power before and after the CS IM on a MS3 with the CorkSport TD05H-18G turbo equipped.

The horsepower spike around 3300rpm is a result from a combination of the CS IM and a small increase in wastegate pre-load. The increased efficiency of the CS IM caused a 2-3psi drop in boost pressure that had to be corrected with the wastegate preload.

Mazdaspeed Intake Manifold Performance

Proven Power:

The CorkSport Intake Manifold is not just for stock or little big turbos. This manifold is designed for the daily driver and high power builds alike. Proven to 684whp on a built 2009 Mazdaspeed 3 utilizing the CST6 turbocharger.

Mazdaspeed Intake Manifold Throttle Body Connection

Large Throttle Body Opening:

Designed with a larger throttle body opening measuring at 70mm vs the OE 60mm. This works great with the OE throttle body and also allows the use of a larger throttle body without modification if desired. Pair with the CorkSport Throttle Body for peak flow efficiency.

Intake Manifold Installation Hardware

Hardware and Accessories:

The CorkSport intake manifold comes to your door with the installed hardware as well as additional hardware and accessories required for installation. This includes:

  1. Three – M8x1.25x35mm Flange Bolts
  2. 1.5 Ft – 1/4” ID Chemical Resistant Rubber Hose for the EVAP System
  3. 3 Ft – 3/8” ID Chemical Resistant Rubber Hose for the Brake Booster
  4. CorkSport Throttle Body Gasket

Product Advisory
  • The CorkSport Intake Manifold is for off-road and racing applications only.
  • If you choose the optional fuel rail the Port Injection nozzle holes will be drilled out for use. If you do not choose to include the fuel rail you will need to drill the holes. This a very simple task.
  • EGR Block-Off Plate: The CorkSport Intake Manifold does not retain the EGR recirculation port. An EGR block-off plate is required for installation. This will cause a CEL (check engine light).
  • VTCS: The CorkSport Intake Manifold does not retain the provisions for the VTCS system. This will cause a CEL (check engine light).
  • Gaskets Not Included: OE throttle body and cylinder head gaskets are not included in the kit. OE gaskets will work correctly with the CorkSport Intake Manifold.
OEM Intake Manifold Gasket – Part #: L3K9-13-111
OEM Throttle Body Gasket – Part #: L3K9-13-655
  • Due to the difficulty of the manufacturing process, not all intake manifolds are identical or perfect in reference to aluminum casting. Dimensionally and performance-wise the intake manifold will perform as advertised. Every intake manifold is inspected for quality assurance.
  • Tuning: the CorkSport Intake Manifold requires aftermarket tuning for proper engine performance.

Very high quality. Paired with the turbo manifold, it helped make my Speed move quicker
WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!!! If I had only KNOWN what a difference this would make I would have bought it years ago!!!!!!!!! Such a awesome piece! Now I will deduct a tiny bit due to the transition from runner to head flange was NOT as smooth as it should be for a piece this nice and costing this much should be addressed!!! Needs a bit of "By hand Work" to make it a seamless transition!!! So I did it to this and the intake inlets and on the 8 valves on my MS3. The first port inlet is not too bad but the second, smaller one on these cars floor is tilted up toward the driver side and looses flow, so port matched head to this mainfolds thermal gasket I bought and took center portion between the 2 ports to a knife edge so no flat surfaces meeting air flow!!! FYI....Since the intake ports on the MS3 face front I cleaned the valves and did the porting while valves closed and stuffed with paper towels!!! People will tell you it can't be done without metal in you motor, HUGE WRONG!!!!!! Easy peasy, just vac and clean real good when done. OK....Now the fun part, With all the bolt-on parts you can buy, 3 inch DP and exhaust, single high flow cat, BNR S3 turbo and this intake she is a BEAST!!!!!! With the OE IM and same parts was very fast but not like this!!! OLD IM and this turbo, boost hit ok about 3500 and stopped pulling good about 61/6200. With the CS IM like this hits hard at 27/2800 and revs trough 65 to 6700 so well, I just thought the turbo wouldn't pull beyond that but was the OE IM all the time holding everything back and maybe less port flow also. I would say 50 more hp at 3500!!!!!! Buy it and you can send me a Xmas card for thanks!!! Lol!!! ZOOM ZOOM!!!!!!!!!!!
Best manifold out there, looks super sleek with a powder coated and it’s nice to drill out the pi holes and it’s ready to make power
I am saving money to purchase. Buthe have purchased several parts from corksport, there support people are outstanding am always guides me in the right direction, you can never go wrong with anything you purchase from corksport. Simply the best company for my 2010 mazdaspeed3. Great company!,,
Hi, I mazdaspeed, and you can Mazdaspeed too! Best price and Awesome Performance. Not only does it improve flow and will allow you to run the same power of less boost, it will help save your precious CYL 3 from the abuse of un-equal air flow across the head. This thing is almost as necessary as upgraded HPFP internals. Getchu some!
Absolutely love this intake manifold. Install was less of a pain than an OEM PnP manifold. Works flawlessly with Corksports throttle body. Dropped my LTFT from 16.x down to .7!
Car feels amazing after the installation. The acceleration is so much better and a very noticeable difference. Highly recommend this to any Mazdaspeed owner.
Instructions are great and an easy install.
I beta tested this manifold on a built motor, ported head with a 6266 spraying methanol. Install was a breeze and the power came on quick and the power held until my redline of 7600rpms. Great flow and great look. Solid quality piece!
Even flow and a lot of it. My car picked up 14 g/s on the same map with no changes. Fitment on this piece is outstanding - it's easier to install than the OEM and clearance blows away the competition. It has a slew of vacuum and meth bungs, making this perfect for someone wanting ~550 wheel horsepower (that's about the limit of the typical methanol pump). A knife edge PI spacer would be a great option for those wanting even more fuel and crazy boost.

I read that the 2.3 and 2.5 L motors are the same but the latter is just bored out. Would this manifold fit a 2011 2.5 L

Will this intake manifold and fuel rail work with standard Bosch 14mm injectors or only the Injector Dynamics ones?

There’s no intake manifolds for 2nd gen mazda3’s 2.0L. I imagine they’re more or less the same engine so what are the chances of different Mazdaspeed 3 Intake manifolds fitting on regular Mazda 3 2.0 or skyactiv
