Design & Fitment :

The Mazda CX-30’s heat shield is designed for its SkyActiv 2.5 Turbo. This heat shield is an effective barrier between the intake and the heat from the radiator and engine block. The partition optimizes airflow from the fender well, the OEM snorkel duct, and the front grill to draw in cool air. The combination provides a steady flow of fresh, cool air to the intake. We've also designed the heat shield to integrate with your vehicle components seamlessly. This allows you to add it to the vehicle's engine without modification for the DIY.

Testing:

Thorough testing of the CorkSport Heat Shield was essential to ensure it performed as intended. We conducted tests under both spirited daily driving and stationary conditions to understand how intake air temperatures are affected with and without the heat shield installed. Our results showed that with the CS Heat Shield in place, the average inlet air temperature was nearly 10°F cooler over the duration of the test. The graph to the right illustrates the performance of the CS Heat Shield compared to the CS SRI without the heat shield under similar conditions. These tests were more demanding than typical driving scenarios to demonstrate how both setups would perform under harsh conditions, such as sitting in traffic on a hot day. The CorkSport Heat Shield effectively reduces heat, ensuring cooler air intake and improved performance for your vehicle.

The Mazda CX-30’s SRI Heat Shield was meticulously crafted from high-quality carbon steel. This material is laser cut and precision formed, ensuring exceptional strength and minimal heat transfer. The carbon steel over materials guarantees durability and reliability. The CS Heat Shield is designed in multiple pieces and riveted together with stainless steel to resist corrosion, maintaining their strength and appearance over time. Each section is powder-coated in a wrinkle-black finish, providing a durable and aesthetically pleasing look when installed in your engine bay.
