*Made for gasoline engines only. Will not work on diesel engines. With the CorkSport Intake installed on the SkyActiv engine, at higher RPM's you may hear a slight ticking from the opening and closing of the injectors. This is completely normal and is what helps increase torque and fuel economy.

especially in 2nd gear and up the car sounds a lot more throaty and is nothing but pure fun! I am going to get the Axle Back in a few months to seal the sound deal.
After taking out the stock resonator it adds a little nice throaty sound to the engine. Power gains not super noticeable. Mazda is about feel however, and it does feel a little more sporty.
It's kinda like when you were a kid and you could play with basic fire works unsupervised. It's fun and gives you a cheap smile but it's nothing dangerous.
Gas mileage (w/ manual) from daily driving has gone from 34mpg to 34.5mpg over one month. (According to the dash)
10/10 would buy again.
I got Corksport's air box to go along with the intake to feed fresh outside air to my engine and protect the filter from salt and grime, and I can still hear the engine well. One thing to note is you may hear a "gurgling" sound the odd time after installing the intake, but this is normal and not a sign of a problem.
I highly recommend getting a spare filter to quicken filter swaps, and i plan on getting a K&N Drycharger to prevent rain or road spray from getting to the filter.
Hello,
I've had your intake installed for about a couple of months now and it did indeed throw my CEL. I tried to just regularly clear the error codes but it came on again in a couple of days.
I took my Mazda in to a professional shop and they tried to diagnose the problem and reset/clear the error codes and it still came back on after another few days.
Apparently the error codes I am receiving are P0101 and P0172 BANK 1 for the circuit/range performance being out of sync and causing my engine to run too rich. (It was bogging or stalling a little in low gears)
They suggested to reinstall the OEM intake to see if the ECU would remain cleared and the light to stay off and it actually worked.
I'm just wondering if you heard of this happening before?
Do I need to get the air box with it, or can I just have the air intake with no box?

I have a 2019 gen 4 mazda 3 2.0L engine. I know you guys came out with a new 2.5L SRI for the gen 4 but im afraid the MAF will be off. Was wondering if this intake would be compatible instead?
Since we haven't gotten a 2.0 model in the states yet we have not been able to see what the size of the MAF housing is yet. Because of this we have not been able to test the intake yet.

2017 is between 2014 and 2018 so you are good to go!

Hello guys, I just wanted to know if you need to "oil" the intake with any specific product when proceeding to the maintenance, or simply clean it with water and an intake cleaner. Thanks ;)

How often do you have to clean the filter if at all? And how often should it be replaced.
It really depends on the environment you live in. We recommend checking the filter every oil change to see how dirty it is getting and going from there. If the filter media is in good shape it can last the life of your Mazda with proper cleaning.
Will this require a heatshield?
It does not require a heat shield.

No, it will not, you will need to select the 2010-2013

what is the difference between this and the intake for the 2.5? the reason i ask is i had the 2.0 and now i have the 2.5 but i kept the intake. is there no way it will work?
The 2.5 will have a larger MAF housing, and the throttle body is also larger.
Will this work for the 2.0L engine on the 2016 manual model?

How often (miles) does it need to be cleaned?
Check out this FAQ on the filters. http://www.aemintakes.com/faq.htm#19 On our shop cars we inspect the filters yearly and clean as needed.
I've had this for quite a while now and the growling sound during the winter months really had me smiling everyday but now that the sun is out I started to smell burning rubber around the engine. Same goes when I drive at night. I've isolated the smell and it seems to be coming from the rubber part of the SRI. Anyone has this problem?

Yes it works with manual and automatic models.
How much of an increase in performance do you gain for installing this sri combined with either the cat back or axle back exhaust?

As long as you want. If you clean the filter it will last the life of your Mazda 3.
Does this work on the 2015 mazda3 skyactiv or is their an updated one coming out?
This works on 2014 and up models aka 2014, 2015, and unless Mazda completely redesigns the Mazda 3 2.0 engine 2016 models too.
Is your intake legal in California?
It is not CARB approved or EO certified. Most customers remove the intake for inspection.
I am concerned about the heat buildup under the hood as I live in Phoenix and summer temps can hit 110+ easily! Engine breathing hotter air actually lowers horepower and efficiency.. Would you still recommend this product.
I would still recommend it. The intake will heatsoak a little when stopped, but once moving (even in extremely hot weather) it would be just as cool of air as an airbox would be since the flow of outside to inside air flushes the hot air. We have thousands of customers that run our Short Ram intakes in southern California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, New Mexico, and other southern warm states and enjoy them.
Will this not fit on the 2.5 SkyActiv?
