Winter 2012 Update

This winter out project Mazdaspeed 3 has seen a wide range part parts installed, tested, and uninstalled. The current parts getting tested out are mostly new suspension parts, but we'll be back on the power soon. Our Mazdaspeed 3 has already been the test car for the development of the new camber plates, but we have decided to go even further. Over the last year or so we have been actively working on developing a full coilover suspension setup. A few of the specs we've decided on so far and are being tested are an inverted monotube design for the fronts and monotube shock for the rear. We are still working out details for spring rates, dampening ranges, and rear spring adjuster setups.

The project Mazdaspeed 3 has been undergoing light power test work with our new stage 1 short ram intake and catted downpipe. This meant switching the parts in the engine bay back to stock to get the best results from testing for fitment and function on both parts. If you have installed a downpipe on a Mazdaspeed 3 you know this is not the most pleasant modification to do. We had converted our exhaust back to stock to ensure the fitment of the catted downpipe with both the stock exhaust and our 80mm cat back exhaust. The testing on the stage 1 short ram intake was easier than the downpipe development but it still did require removing the CorkSport FMIC for the SRI to return the car to stock.

Suspension and power are not the only things we've been working on. We did the test fitting of the new LED rear bumper lights on our Mazdaspeed 3. When the lights are off it is difficult to even tell they are installed. When you turn lights it really sets off the look of the Mazdaspeed 3 and goes well with the LED tail lights we have installed.

That's all of the things we can share for now. We are always working on new parts so be sure to check back regularly.
