Testing

The Mazda 3 rear brake pads performed very well during our long term testing. While the rear brakes are not nearly as important to braking as the fronts, the rears showed the same braking performance and consistency we saw with our front pad testing. Great stopping power, consistent performance, and smooth pedal feel at the limit were all found while canyon carving with these pads! We even tested these non-track pads on the track. While they performed well, they were overheated by the end of our second 20 minute session, so we cannot recommend them for full track day applications.

Materials

The Mazda 3 rear street performance pads are designed for improved performance over the stock pads without the drawbacks of a full performance pad. Produced from an optimized organic compound, the pads provide better braking performance and pad bite, without excess dust or noises that typically come with aggressive performance pads. Optimum pad operating temperatures are from ambient temps up to approximately 400-450°C and average µ is approximately 0.43-0.49. Finally, install is simple and they drop right into place with the help of our instructions!

I put these on my Mazda 3 Turbo and they’ve been really solid. First thing I noticed was the bite, the car just stops quicker and feels more confident than it did with stock pads.

They’re super smooth too, not grabby or anything weird. I daily my car and these feel perfect for that. No squeaking so far and barely any dust.

I’ve pushed them pretty hard on some backroads and they’ve handled it no problem. Braking stays consistent and predictable which is exactly what I wanted.

Overall it just feels like a nice upgrade without any downsides. For the price I’d definitely buy them again!

Brakes arrived quick! Installation was a breeze and the guide helped out a lot when it came to putting the e-brake in/out of maintenance mode. Bedding the pads was easy and could already notice a difference over stock, I can’t wait to pair with the CS Front pads !

Making the switch from OEM pads to Street Performance pads was a major upgrade! Not everyone can afford the BBK, so having these Street Performance pads available is awesome!

I pushed these pads pretty dang hard up in the canyons, some of my favorites like Alpine to Cascade, or Mt. Nebo Loop, East Canyon so many to name lol. I'm the type of driver that likes to push my car to some limits when it comes to canyon running, and living in Utah the options are in plenty, which some nice hairpins, sweepers to steep grades.

These pads seriously held up very very well, I was thoroughly impressed! Granted yes they got hot at times but they still held up and did their job! Brake fading did not even feel like an issue at all! Wanna push your car harder but be friendly on the pocket book? Then you need these pads!!!

These pads fit perfectly with the OEM calipers, but I do recommend having your rotors turned also that way you have fresh pads on fresh rotors to take full advantage of these pads!
