How The Exchange Program Works

1. Purchase A new CorkSport Turbo (CST4, CST5 or CST6) from CorkSport.com.
2. Add this product *OEM MAZDASPEED 3/6 K04 TURBO - Exchange Program* to your shopping cart and complete the checkout process.
3. We will ship your new CorkSport Turbo to you.
4. Ship back your old OEM Mazda KO4 to us within 60 days - with TRACKING - along with your name and order number inside the box.
5. We review the turbo to ensure that it is a rebuildable OEM Mazdaspeed 3/6 K04 Turbo - See Terms & Conditions.
6. Once we validate it's a genuine rebuildable OEM Mazdaspeed K04, we will issue a rebate or CS Points.

Upgraded CST4 vs OEM KO4

There is a BIG difference between replacing a bad turbo and upgrading Mazdaspeed K04 to a more efficient one for more power.

If you want to replace your KO4 turbo, go with OEM and just plug and play. You’re good to go; wash your hands and get on with your life. This will have your car up and running pretty quickly. However, your maximum power output will be limited, and you will eventually have the same problem – the Mazdaspeed KO4 turbo will fail.

The upgraded CorkSport CST4 Mazdaspeed turbo continues to prove itself as one of the best bolt-on performance options coupled with the needed reliability to withstand the additional demands of chasing 400 WHP – something the KO4 cannot accomplish.

Note: An upgraded turbo will require HPFP Internals and a tune.

The Mazdaspeed K04 Turbo Limitation

The CST4 Turbo for the Mazdaspeed 3 is a drop-in UPGRADE from the ground up, and by no means is it an apples-to-apples comparison with the asthmatic Mazdaspeed K04 turbo.

• The K04 turbo uses restrictive housings that cannot keep up at higher RPMs, and especially at higher boost levels. You can feel this as your stock turbo “runs out of steam” up above ~5200 RPM.
• The OEM K04 uses a 45mm inducer; 56.25mm exducer cast compressor wheel, while the CST4 uses a 50.5mm inducer and 68.1mm exducer forged billet compressor wheel.
• On the turbine side, the OEM K04 turbo uses a 50.1mm inducer and a 44.5mm exducer 12-blade cast wheel. The CST4 turbo uses a 56.2mm inducer and 49mm exducer high-flow 9-blade design.
• Again, the CST4 outshines the K04 with the turbine inducer being 12% larger and the exducer 10% larger. The 9-blade design has two key benefits: more peak exhaust flow as there is less material in the way of flow, and 21% lighter for a faster spool time.

Exchanging your Mazdaspeed K04 for a CorkSport Turbo gives you multiple options, including the ability to go with an external wastegate.

With three turbo sizes to choose from, you have the opportunity to add the additional performance you need to meet or exceed your power goals. Potential power gains, +400WHP (CST4), +500WHP (CST5),or +600WHP (CST6).

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Exchange Program:

Core Requirements:

• All cores submitted for a rebate or CorkSport Points must be original equipment manufacturer (OEM) Mazdaspeed 3 or Mazdaspeed 6 KO4 Turbos; KO422-881 or KO422-882.
• Cores for OEM K04 turbos must be in 100% rebuildable condition to be considered eligible for a rebate or CS Points.
• CorkSport will NOT accept any cores with missing exhaust/compressor housings, damaged/broken studs, bolts, or stripped threads.
• CorkSport will NOT accept any cores with cracked, broken, or damaged exhaust/compressor housings.
• CorkSport will NOT accept any cores with missing components.
• CorkSport will NOT accept any eBay Beijing Whirlyboi KayOhForz or similar KO4 replacement brands for a rebate or CorkSport Points.
• Cores NOT meeting these criteria will be returned at the owner's expense.
• Partial rebates or CS points are NOT available.

Packaging Requirements:

• Bubble wrap and/or heavy shipping paper must be used for protection during shipping.
• Do NOT use packing peanuts.
• Please bag your turbo if it is oily.
• Customers are responsible if goods arrive damaged - due to poor packaging, damage incurred during transit, etc.

Return Shipping & Tracking:

• Ship back your old OEM Mazda KO4 to us with TRACKING - along with your name and order number inside the box
• Core returns must be associated with an order number for tracking - CS will not accept/process random KO4 deliveries.
• Customers are responsible for all return shipping costs and import fees/taxes associated with or incurred during the return process.
• Customers are required to provide tracking of their core return. CorkSport is not responsible for lost or delayed shipments.
• Customers are required to provide tracking of their core return via email.

Timeline and Shipping:

• New Turbo Rebates: Cores must be shipped to CorkSport Mazda Performance within the 60 days following your new CorkSport Turbo shipment.
• CorkSport Points Exchange: Cores must be shipped to CorkSport Mazda Performance within the 60 days following your order creation.
• CorkSport Points require a FREE Registered CorkSport Account.
• Failure to meet your transaction-specific deadline will result in forfeiture of the rebate or CS Points, depending on the exchange you choose.
