The Performance Top Mount Intercooler (TMIC) provides solid power gains and a great value to the Mazdaspeed 3, MS6 and CX7 turbo. Made from CorkSportās own custom cast end tanks which are TIG welded to a 3.0ā thick bar and plate core, the Mazdaspeed TMIC provides added performance by removing the bottleneck restriction of the stock intercooler and increasing resistance to heat soak by using thicker materials. The cold pipe connection is CNC milled and drilled for a leak proof connection and all bolt holes have been capped off.
16 Rows of Cooling Fins help drastically lower post turbo air temperatures. Proven on a SuperFlow test bench to provide 46% more airflow over the stock intercooler.
With 3.0" of thickness, the extra capacity allows significant cooling capabilities. During testing, the Mazdaspeed 3 TMIC showed an average decrease in pressure across the core by 53% and an increase in overall efficiency of 25% over the stock intercooler.
End tanks made of cast aluminum are durable and long lasting. Plus with a bar and plate intercooler core, you remove bottlenecking for more power with less boost.
*Stock shroud molding may cause some fins to bend slightly. This will NOT affect performance or efficiency of your TMIC. The easiest and recommended way of removing the offending culprit is to trim the TMIC shroud. See Shroud Fitment Document for more details.

Will replacing the TMIC require a new gasket during installation?
The gasket can typically be reused. You will need to inspect it to make sure its in good condition before installation of the new TMIC.
Does this utilize the stock charge piping? If running this setup, does the charge piping matter that much? They are pretty short pipes/bends, so I would imagine it wouldnt make much of a difference.
It does. We tested a different design TMIC to throttle body part and we did not see much of a difference in power.
Is there a hp gain on mostly stock gen 1 MS3s with this specific TMIC? I just have the carb legal intake and inlet pipe, hpfp internals, ngk 1step colder sparkplugs.
This part is designed to increase cooling capabilities over stock and will only increase power with the addition of other bolt ons and a tune.
Is this TMIC compatible with CST4 turbo, or I will need FMIC for running the CST4?
You can run the TMIC with the CST4
This is my daily driver, I was wondering if you would recommend going front mount intercooler or would the top mount be enough for a daily driver for some weekend fun?
If you're on a stock turbo and aren't making crazy power than the TMIC should be an easy solution for you that does what you'll need.
Is this supposed to come with hardware because mine only came with two screws i have a 2011 mazdaspeed3
Check out the installation instructions, you re-use the mounting hardware for the intercooler to the engine. The 2 screws provided are for the shroud. Make sure you read the installations before fitting the shroud if you choose to re-use it.
The intallation PDF link doesn't work.
We just tried it and the pdf loads up in a new screen. Give our sales team a call and they can figure out what you have going on and why it wont load for you. 360-260-2675
Will the mazdaspeed6 front mount lot come back? And is this tmic the same used in the front mount lot?
Yes the MS6 FMIC is coming back. No this is not the same intercooler core used in the FMIC.
I dont see the optional shroud that everyone is talking about do you still offer it? Also I have a 06 speed 6 do they make a FMIC or is this the only option to upgrade?
The shroud was discontinued several years back.
Good morning, Will the factory hose and connector work with this upgraded TMIC
Yes it will
Will the stock Mazda CX7 Shroud fit on it?
Yes it will
Two questions actually; 1. How much does the piece weigh vs stock? 2. An earlier question asked about CARB certification for this part -- I am in California and I am interested to find out if this would cause my car to the visibility aspect of the test (where the person conducting the test visually inspects the engine to see if modifications have been made.)
Put the oem shroud over it
I installed this the other day and wow, what a difference I'm seeing. My only concern is I'm getting a high pitched hum (not whistle, more like letting the air out of a balloon and pinching the end but not quite as high pitched as that) coming into the cockpit at high loads from somewhere in or under the dash (hard to pinpoint). Could it be from not running the stock shroud? I'm pretty sure I got all my hoses tightened enough, but before I start troubleshooting I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen? Thanks
Are you seeing this at cruise all the time, or only in boost? There's a few different factors. Feel free to shoot us an email at "Sales@corksport.com" and We'll help you diagnose it!
Will this work with an '06 speed6? The TMIC piping changed between '06 and '07, and this TMIC doesn't look like it has the fittings that will work on an '06.
The TMIC is the same on all of them. This will work for your car.
I just installed Stage II SRI and the Dual VTA Bypass Valve )OMG, love it!). I want to install this TMIC next before getting an AP. I see you recommend the fuel pump internals prior to installing the TMIC to someone running stock. Should I consider getting the fuel pump internals first? My plan is to do, TMIC then AP, then Cat-Back exhaust. Suggestions?
Definitely get your Fuel pump in. Then you never have to worry. I would get the AP prior to any more bolt ons just so you can monitor and tune the car accordingly.

Are there any differences between the speed 3 and speed 6 intercooler? Are they interchangeable?
For the TMIC, they are interchangeable.
Do I need to upgrade my BCS to run this properly?
Does this meet CARB laws?
No it does not.
Is there any cooling advantage in purchasing the optional aluminum shroud vs. using the OEM plastic shroud?
Some people feel the aluminum shroud seals the hood scoop against it better for more air.
So the official answer from CS is No? "Some people" reads a way of saying, "not us... [CS]" What tests have been performed to prove this isn't just a $70 aesthetic piece?
We haven't performed a test, but if you notice anyone who has the shroud shows a black wear line on that shroud. That line shows where the rubber seals to the top mount. By keeping the air directed towards one place, you are able to cool the intercooler more efficiently.
Do you need the Max Flow Fuel Pump Internals for this Intercooler?
We would suggest doing those with the upgraded top mount intercooler.
Can I run this on the stock tune safely?
You can run this on a stock tune. However, i would highly recommend that you upgrade your fuel pump internals before you make that change.
Hi wanted to know if I can install this TMIC with the mods I have now. Cobb AP, Cobb sf, turbo inlet hose, fuel pump internals, Cobb bpv. I don't have the downpipe and I don't have the CBE.
Yes you can!
I have a Cobb AP running stage 2, Cobb intake and turbo inlet hose and fuel pump internals. Can I install this tmic with does mods without giving a cell or needing a custome tune?? Thx.
You can run the TMIC without needing a custom tune.
Do I need to reflash using my access port after installing this item?
I would flash your ecu to a map that has an upgraded TMIC taken into consideration.
Should I re flash my corksport safe mode map from acessport or will it be ok after installing inter-cooler.Corksport Power Series SRI + TIP (Stg 1) Accessport (safe mode map) Corksport DISI silicone boost tubes Corksport DISI silicone BOV hose Corksport shifter bushing set Sure short cut shift plate Rear Motor Mount Inserts No fuel pump internals no down pipe or cat back.
You will need to upgrade the fuel pump internals with the installation of the TMIC and the mods you have done.

It depends on what supporting modifications you have. We recommend calling us up so we can answer this better, 360-260-2675
About how much horsepower can this tmic handle?
The highest dyno numbers we have seen was 345 at the wheels with someone running methanol injection.
anyone have an idea how much whp gain over stock ?
One of the things you will notice with the TMIC is the reduced engine knock under load which gets you more power. Expect to see a ~15 wheel hp gain.
I have an 07 Mazda3. Would this work For my car?
This will only work with a Turbo Mazdaspeed vehicle.
Is it safe to run this IC without the shroud? Like if rain came in the hood scoop? And what kind of hp gains??? Debating between this and a DP
We recommend running the OEM shroud if you do not get the optional one we sell. Rain comes through the hood scoop and falls through the intercooler with or without the seal. The seal is there to make the TMIC more efficient.
With this installed in a stock cx-7 will it need to be tuned at all?
With the TMIC we would recommend a tune. Check out Versatune.
Am I able to use the standard rubber and plastic shroud that comes stock on the Gen II's with this or is it better getting the optional shroud?
Yes you can use the OEM shroud and hood seal.
