How To Install CorkSport Leather Shift Knob

It will take you an easy 5 minutes to install your new shift knob.

I’ve been driving with the Corksport shift knob for a while now and can say that it is a wonderful improvement over the stock Mazda 3 shift knob. The leather and stitching on the Corksport are high quality and feel very good on the hand. I like the gentle grain of the leather too….neither too smooth nor too rough. The weight does seem to smooth out shifting a bit as well. There’s noticeably less clunkiness.

I also like the shape because it accommodates both a top grip and a side grip. The curvature of the front of the knob offers a a very natural finger rest. And if you like to rest your entire hand on the shift knob, the top of the Corksport provides ample real estate to do that.

In terms of upgrades, it’s an easy install and IMO the benefits for more enjoyable shifting are well worth the price.

Ridiculously easy to install. Instructions are straight forward. It's. Five minute job including time to clean the center console up with soap and water. Shifter is heavier, looks significantly nicer and other than the cost it's pretty awesome. Nice easy way to spruce up my dirty old 2016.

Installation takes less than 5 minutes, and that is with a smoke and beer break. Knob is heavier and beefier than stock. It is not a dramatic difference, but shifting is smoother.

I've had this shift knob installed for about a week now. I love it! It's just a bit heavier than stock so my shifts aren't any slower but at the same time doesn't require as much effort as the stock knob. The form is exactly what I wanted as well. The only downside is it doesn't quite reach the shift boot. It still turns but it's really tight so I'm not sure if it's just stripping the threads or if there is still room for it to go down further. Either way it's a very small gap that you can't see as much as you can feel.
