The CorkSport Top Mount Intercooler (TMIC) provides solid power gains and a great value to the Mazdaspeed 3, MS6 and CX7 turbo. Made from CorkSport’s own custom cast end tanks which are TIG welded to a 3.0” thick bar and plate core, the TMIC provides added performance by removing the bottleneck restriction of the stock intercooler and increasing resistance to heat soak by using thicker materials. The cold pipe connection is CNC milled and drilled for a leak proof connection and all bolt holes have been capped off.

    Direct fit and so much better than I could ever have imagined. Took it out for a run today in 95 degree heat. The manifold stays cold to the touch even after hard driving!
    This think is awesome. Spool is supa quick now,and it looks great in there. I do highly recommend keeping the shroud for you gen 1 guys. Also be careful with the cold pipe bolts
    Love the new look under the hood, functional, cooler boost temps, and paired with a proper tune (DramaTune!) - this makes for a responsive, impressive setup for my daily!
    Using this TMIC on a GEN1 MS3 in tandem with the stock shroud will leave you disappointed. As others have said, doing so leads to bent peripheral fins.

    If it doesn't all fit perfectly, state this in your instructions Corksport. State that using with stock shroud will bend your intercooler fins. Corksport usually delivers, but they dropped the ball on this one.
    Before I get to the product itself, Corksports TMIC replaced the OEM TMIC on my 06 Speed6. The OE TMIC saw over 243,000km. It looked heinous.

    Corksport's TMIC is a huge beautiful beast of shiny goodness. It stands out in the engine bay.

    Now, my engine thanks both Corksport and myself for buying their TMIC. It loves this intercooler and so do I. You do notice it's open flow higher in the rpm range and it's your choice if you want to rip through the band or not. From my experience with it, it was a rather subtle break in where you knew something had changed for the positive but couldnt quite isolate it. IE: after I installed it, I didnt notice the sound of my turbo spooling as much and then I noticed I was shifting out of second much quicker than usual. All good signs right? Riiiight.

    Corksport nailed this product. From the ease of install to the finish with rolling welds and then the added performance and in theory, controlled temp's, it's all here.

    Giving it 5 stars because it's doing a good job I'm running a custom tune with it but it's pretty much not getting the cold air the front mounts get. This top mount will get heat soaked eventually but not nearly as fast as the oem top mount
    Quality build and very effective results! Bolts directly in place as an OE piece. I would highly recommend this upgrade!!
    Absolute necessity for the MZR, either stock levels or performance. I ran this intercooler with stock setup, through turbo swap on 24lbs. Reduced knock across the board. Really settled things down. Great fitment. Excellent cast end tanks with solid welds. Kept nice and cool through pulls. I opted for the shroud, but decided to do without it bc the unit is great to look at. Was able to develop 24lbs on E30 mix flowing 390 grams / sec. More than enough to max stock fuel system with internal

    I just installed this and their BPV valve. I love them, call me crazy but my shifts got smoother, the increase in power is pretty sweet too. Thank you corksport!!!
    Perfect fit, fast install, exceptional quality!

    This is the perfect TMIC if you ever plan on going with meth injection or ethanol, it's going to give you the best throttle response from any aftermarket TMIC, and it'll still fit the factory (genPu at least) shroud and only the hardcore MS3 owners might think it's not stock.

    Before my AP, I noticed that my powerband gained an extra 800-1k rpm worth of top end power, meaning I didn't need to shift at 5500 rpm to keep it in the sweet spot.

    Even without meth or eth this is perfect for a heavily bolted car while keeping top notch throttle response.

    I would personally only torque the cold pipe bolts to 12 ft/lbs, as 15 is a lil too much in aluminum with steel bolts.
    Easy install. With a cold air and aftermarket BOV noticed a big difference immediately and had a very smooth crisp spooling sound. obviously a better quality product than stock. Ready now for Accessport, turboback, HPFP, and possibly to big turbo!? Buy this product if you do not want to deal with custom pipe work and will not be ramming your car so much that heat soak will be an issue!
    Easy install. Went ahead and reset battery to relearn A/F. Instant difference. Top end of second into third has ALOT more torque. Matched with my Cobb BPV, shifts produce a sharp and crisp recirc. There is no comparison between the stock unit and the Corksport unit. Night/day difference in quality and craftsmanship.
    Fits like a glove and 30 minute install at most. Consistently hitting boost targets and spool up is much smoother. Vehicle has much more power in higher RPMs. Not to mention stock shroud fitment is a plus. High recommend this TMIC!
    Great Product, Great finish. CorkSport has top of the line product for the right price. I installed this along with my charge tubes, HPFP, DP and CBE all in one night. Its making a big difference than the stock unit which is trash. This is a very quick fix took about 10 minutes to install. Currently being tuned by Will Dawson from Purple Drank Tuning and he loves my set up. You guys need a tune hit him up.
    Very impressed with this upgrade turbo spools a heap better over standard TMIC. This unit is a highly recommended 1st upgrade for your Mazda 3 MPS or Mazdaspeed 3. UNREAL!!!!
    Top Mount Intercooler bolts to the car like instructed but as far as ease of reusing the factory cover (which is the only reason why I wanted this TMIC) is not going to be done without a fight. I understand that the backside of the cover will have to be ground down to be reused and that is not the issue. The issue is that there is a huge gap at the front of the cover where it attaches with the mounting bolts between the cover in the intercooler so now I am going to have to completely change bolts there and use a 1/4" to 3/8" spacer between to attach the cover properly and then at the back of the cover where the alignment (triangle) part of the cover is interfering with the corksport strut tower brace.
    How does the shroud make "maximum performance gains"? Can anyone explain this?

    By far the most intriguing upgrade from Corksports. Simply stunning how well this one part makes your MS3 perform more efficient with the power delivery. The turbo spools way faster and boost continues into the higher RPM ranges much better now while putting down a bit more HP/TQ too. Running an AP safe tune now until I install the CS FP internals and currently have the Stage II Intake/TIP and MZR bypass valve installed. Still safe with FP readings! Beginning to get pretty fast now...

    Ohh and thanks for the postcard CS! The wait wasn't bad with the IC so no worries! Hit me up if you guys ever swing through SC for god know what reason...streets are getting packed with more crazy shit every day!

    I Had these awesome TMIC since april 2013! first of, the best finish ever ! and compare to our stock TMIC, this piece is a beast !! definitely worth every penny !
    I have 2012 MS3 & already have catback & short ram intake & I'm planning on purchasing the TMI, down pipe + 80 mm cat & a BOV. Will the engine hold up fine with all these mods or does maintenance need be applied?
    Got this for a great price on a holiday sale, and it's definitely a worthy investment. I'm consistently hitting boost targets even at higher ambient temperatures, and the core is shedding heat at highway speeds much faster than I anticipated for a heavy bar and plate design.
    this tmic looks amazing with the optional powder coated shroud. the power you get from replacing the stock restricting tmic is ridiculous and very noticeable. amazing product and im super happy. thanks again corksport
    Love this product looks great and comparing OEM to this intercooler you can tell the difference the craftsmanship is excellent. I had done a bunch of other upgrades at the time so install was simple and easy. I haven't even put the stock cover on it cause I love the fact you can look inside the scoop form the front of the car and see a big burly intercooler. 2 thumbs up corksport
    This was the first power mod I have made to my car. I installed this on my 12' Mazdaspeed 3 the other day and I love it! The turbo spools much more quickly and power delivery seems to be much smoother as well. I was peaking +15psi just in 2nd gear alone which I was never able to do on the stock intercooler. There were a couple of hiccups with the installation. In the instructions, it says to remove the connections to the bpv, but this proved to be quite difficult as the return line clamp is very difficult to get to. I found it much easier to remove the two bolts holding the bpv on the cold pipe, so you could lift the stock intercooler and cold pipe out together. I also removed the bpv gasket so it didn't accidentally fall out. Also, the two m6-1.0 allen head bolts provided did not work as they pulled through the stock shroud holes when tightening since the distance between the stock shroud and the new intercooler threads have increased and there were no washers provided. I could have just bought two washers, but I wanted to stick with a 10mm bolt, but the stock ones were too short. I ended up spending $6 and picked up two m6 - 1.0 X 30mm bolts and m6 washers and they fit perfectly and were long enough to reach the threading and short enough not to bottom out. Other than that, the new intercooler is a great product and I highly recommend!
    Used mostly for short city driving, so wasn't expecting significant BAT temp reduction advantages, but it's worth if only for the significant improvement in throttle response and earlier turbo spool-up. The TMIC openings thoughtfully had painter's tape when shipped. However, peeling the tape off, I noticed metallic flakes on the tape. I wasn't sure what to make of that. Worried about metallic flakes being ingested into the engine, I used compressed air to shake out both openings of any possible debris. Overall, no issues and happy with the install. Superb product for the price.

    difference in performance as soon as you hit the GAS... And you still have that STOCK look under the hood,OEM shroud fit like a glove. My best friend has a MS6 if I didn"t tell him I upgraded he would of never known. Gotta LOVE Cork Sport.
    Just finished installing the stage II SRI with the TMI on 2013 Mazdaspeed3. Love it. Did a quick test run and wheels starting breaking loose between 1st and 2nd even with the traction control on. Was at 80 before knowing it. Lots of fun! Very simple to install the TMI. SRI, a little tricky although completely worth it.
    How much hp will this support up to?

    Would you recommend doing a tune after installing the TMIC on an otherwise stock car?

    CorkSport Reply: If you have a stock car it would work just fine without a tune. A tune will get you more power though.
    Super easy install. I got the tubes with it. More boost and seems longer. No shroud, just cut a little away or file it down, then fits over cooler, no problem. this is a must upgrade for MS3, so the turbo will get plenty of air. Won't be bottle necked b/c of limited EOM cooler.
    Amazing product with a great finish. Easy installation along with the CorkSport Boost Tubes helped to really improve both the performance and aesthetics of the engine bay. Couldn't ask for a better product!
    Absolutely love the CS TMIC, fit and finish is exactly as described by the CS team. The airflow improvements are noticeable immediately without tune and with a tune the whole engine feels lighter with the turbo not having to work as hard(I'm running SRI+TIH+TMIC). Digging the superior cooling as well! Thanks again to the whole team at CS!
    would it show the same performance gains from 07-09 vs 10'-13' since Gen2 has a hood scoop and Gen 1 does not have a hood scoop.

    I am planning on ordering it this afternoon and I currently own an 07' MS3.

    Awesome bang for the buck and super simple install. Noticed faster boost on a stock tune, with a tune and supported mods I really noticed the gains.

    Love it. It dropped my BATs a bit and let me run a lower WGDC which still getting the same boost levels. Looks pretty much stock with the slightly modified stock shroud.
    Would have liked the OEM shroud to have fit without bending the periphereal IC cooler fins.
    This TMIC is definitely an upgrade you can feel! You can sense the car breathing in more air and hitting boost sooner which makes driving all that much better!
    LOve this TMIC, sold off the new CPe and can not tell the difference at all between a much higher priced it and I love the most that I got to reuse my OEM cover for once!

    Two questions actually; 1. How much does the piece weigh vs stock? 2. An earlier question asked about CARB certification for this part -- I am in California and I am interested to find out if this would cause my car to the visibility aspect of the test (where the person conducting the test visually inspects the engine to see if modifications have been made.)

    I installed this the other day and wow, what a difference I'm seeing. My only concern is I'm getting a high pitched hum (not whistle, more like letting the air out of a balloon and pinching the end but not quite as high pitched as that) coming into the cockpit at high loads from somewhere in or under the dash (hard to pinpoint). Could it be from not running the stock shroud? I'm pretty sure I got all my hoses tightened enough, but before I start troubleshooting I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen? Thanks

    Will this work with an '06 speed6? The TMIC piping changed between '06 and '07, and this TMIC doesn't look like it has the fittings that will work on an '06.

    I just installed Stage II SRI and the Dual VTA Bypass Valve )OMG, love it!). I want to install this TMIC next before getting an AP. I see you recommend the fuel pump internals prior to installing the TMIC to someone running stock. Should I consider getting the fuel pump internals first? My plan is to do, TMIC then AP, then Cat-Back exhaust. Suggestions?
