The instructions were spot on until the install. My TMM was definitely broken but the bottom groove was still intact. See that's the thing I had no idea that there was a groove for the CS TMM rear insert. There are actually three grooves and it is a very very tight fit no matter how much lube you use. I had to use my c-clamp with two flat pieces of wood to keep both inserts in place. I've seen others use a variation of clamps. The top part was tricky getting it to line up again with center bolt. Using the jack and a short pry bar helped. Once you get the center bolt it gets easier.
Performance - well like I said my TMM is broke and before, gave me a whining shearing sound. These inserts really help and essentially you exchange one sound for another. It sounds throatier now which I like and the driving/shifting feels very solid. A definite improvement in sound, shifting, and driving. IMHO the vibration in gears 5-6 is hardly noticeable. Maybe I'll check back in 6 mos with any break- in improvements or changes.
