As always, the CorkSport Mazda3 Axle Back Exhaust was built using only the highest quality materials and design. I'm a little confused as to what happens to the catalytic converter. In the "cat. back" application, the factory exhaust is decoupled at the down pipe, which appears to be ahead of the converter. Does the mid pipe resonator also function as a converter? Please set me straight.

The sound on the 2.5L video sounds great. Is the output 77dB closed and 55dB idle? I have a 2.0L 2015 Mazda 3 hatchback with a resonator delete and was wondering if it would still keep that deep tone except a little bit louder. Do you know how it would sound like on a 2.0L with a resonator delete?

What makes this product only available for the hatch? If it is simply because the rear diffuser blocks the mufflers on the sedan, I have already considered cutting holes and bringing them out on my sedan (I don't like hiding them) so that would be no problem. Or is it an actual installation issue with the differences in length?

Sounds Amazing! Easy enough to install... Deep growl like a 370z/g35 exhaust note not like a ricer civic with a high pitch annoying noise... Exactly the exhaust I was looking for!

Also do you need to do a tune when these are added to compensate for the change?

Picked up an axel back exhaust and short ram air intake for my 2014 Mazda 3 s GT hatch. I’m lucky enough to live 11 miles from their shop so I saved some $ on shipping. Installed the air intake myself without issue in about 30 minutes. However I decided to take the exhaust to my local muffler shop. Glad I did. My Mazda 3 has the appearance package which comes with a high gloss black rear bumper diffuser. I believe it’s a little larger and lower than the stock bumper. Once they had it installed (yes it is a quick bolt on unit) we noticed the rear exhaust pipes were recessed in by about 2 inches inside the plastic of the bumper. You couldn’t see the tips nor the Cork sport logo. Needless to say the mechanic was concerned about me melting the bumper. The easy fix was for him to weld a 2.5 inch pipe extension to the straight portion of the exhaust pipe, forward of the bolts. In the end the exhaust looks awesome and sounds amazing and along with the new air intake I definitely notice a boost in performance.

The CS axel back for the hatchback will absolutely turn heads. It sounds great. It's deep and loud but not annoying. It sounds right. Personally I think the sound gets better with a little time too. Very easy to install and looks great when your behind the car.

I ordered an axle back exhaust for my Mazda3 2015 SP25GT sedan. It arrived promptly to Perth, Western Australia, very well packed and in perfect condition.

Just got this exhaust on. It sounds pretty good. It DOES drone at about 1500 rpm with little to no throttle (slowing down for stops), Sounds like a sub-woofer. However that's a pretty normal side effect when going for as deep of a tone as this exhaust has. It's not quite as loud as I thought it'd be. Just slightly louder than stock, but great for a daily driver. Overall pleased. Just wished someone had mentioned the small amount of droning in a review.
