Performance Sound:

The CorkSport Axle Back Exhaust (ABE) improves the sound of your 3rd Gen Mazda. By swapping out the restrictive stock muffler for the high-flow resonator, the axle back frees up a bit of performance and provides an amazing-sounding exhaust note. The resonator provides an aggressive note without the annoying drone often associated with poorly designed exhaust systems.

Upgraded Style

The axle-back exhaust for the 2014-2018 Mazda 3 improves on the OEM design. The exhaust, while maintaining fitment, increases the diameter to 65mm, improving both the flow and sound of the exhaust. While the original exhaust hides the tips, offering little to be desired. The CorkSport ABE has single-walled construction with 90mm polished tips and CorkSport-branded tags welded for an upgrade in appearance.

Materials & Manufacturing

The Mazda 3 axle-back exhaust is constructed from quality materials and precision manufacturing. The exhaust is made of T304 stainless steel, offering superior corrosion resistance from the elements and road debris. The piping is mandrel to 65mm diameter, which provides a smooth-flowing design. Each connection is TIG welded to ensure long-lasting strength at joints, while the flanges are laser cut to 7/16-inch thickness and resistant to warping. The pipe is polished for a beautiful shine and marked with exhaust tips for added style.

Sounds great. Deep rumble and very minor burbles without a tune. Although it took way longer than expected to ship, I received it within a week of it shipping. It was worth the wait.

I bought the axle back exhaust 2 years ago, and it was the best upgrade I've made so far. The sound is nice and deep and sounds great under acceleration. It does not drone on the highway, and is a perfect fit for a sporty commute. In the colder months the exhaust can be pretty loud on a cold start. If you are looking for a lot of sound I would go with the 80mm exhaust instead.

Love it! The exhaust is actually fairly loud in person—the videos don’t quite do it justice (although I also have a short ram intake installed). I can’t imagine you’d need more than just the axle-back. The car has a nice deep, boomy sound. It’s quiet at lower rpms with little to no drone. Install was a little difficult with the rusted bolts and flange but definitely doable otherwise. Keep in mind the flange bolts are welded to the flange (at least in my ‘16) so you only have to undo the two 14mm nuts facing the front of the car.

Just installed my axle-back today, honest opinion it sounds really good nearly as loud as what some people said I love it already, great exhaust for a daily driver.

I was hesitant at first, but this exhaust is a perfect fit for my style. It has a very mature, deep sound that quiets down at highway speeds. Deep rumbles on downshifts bring a smile to my face every time.

This is by far the best purchase I have made for my car. This, combined with the Short Ram Intake, gives the car this incredibly throaty and low growl that makes me grin every time I start the car, even though I've had it for months. It has such a nice non-ricer sound and cold starts are a thing to behold.

I could not recommend this product more.

After doing quite a bit of research on which exhaust worked best for me I decided to go with the Corksport axle back and not only is it perfect but the guys at Corksport hooked me up. Originally the order was saying 4 weeks but they were able to get me one in about 4 days. I definitely love the low rumble of my exhaust and it doesn't drone on when your cruising down the road. I would absolutely recommend this product and the price fits the quality. Great Stuff!

Build quality is incredible.l, Beautiful part. The team at Corksport are very good with Customer service, and kept me in the loop on every detail. That being said, the tone is nice, but is quite a bit quieter than I was hoping for. Maybe putting the mid pipe in with the axle back would make it a tad better.
Overall, I'm happy with this purchase, and will definitely order more from this company.

Eventhough it took a month to receive the exhaust, it was worth the wait. Packaging was excellent. Instructions were very clear.



Installation was very easy. The only time consuming part was to take out the OEM exhaust from the hangers. After one was taken out, it was very easy to take out the other three. (Stick in a screwdriver between the metal and the rubber. Spray in some WD40, leave it for some time and then pry out the hanger from the exhaust support using the screwdriver)



The exhaust note was just what I wanted. Low bass grumble at low rpm. After 2500 rpm, sound dies down a bit and in 6th gear no droning at all. (Might be more noisy with the racepipe as well as on a 2.5L engine)

This thing is definitely worth it. Great exhaust note at low rpm and no drone when cruising. Downshifting to overtake gives that nice rumble again until you get back to normal gear range.



Very professional/non-ricer sound. Installation was pretty quick (the rubber hangers were a pain but sitting on the side of the car (make sure the vehicle is stable on your jack stands) and pulling made it real easy. I utilized a jack stand to keep the old exhaust in place and later hold the new exhaust while reattaching the two rubber hangers.

This exhaust was exactly what I was looking for. I certainly didn't want a very loud fart sounding car. This gives it a very nice toned growl at low rpms. It certainly does not sound annoying. Should sound even better when you pair it with a short ram intake. Really glad I bought it.
