The CorkSport Advantage

High-performance MAC bullet valve: The CorkSport Mazdaspeed EBCS uses the latest technology in air control solenoids available today —
  • Energizing response time of 0.0007 seconds.
  • De-energizing response time of 0.0006 seconds.
  • A balanced valve design so the boost pressure will not affect response time.
  • Frequency operating range from 0-1000 Hz.

3-port design: The CorkSport EBCS can be used with all wastegate setups, including internal wastegate, bleed (OEM) and interruption, and external wastegate.

Material: The manifold is made with 6061-T6 billet aluminum and finished with black anodizing for high strength and great looks. It’s threaded for 1/8 NPT or AN fittings.
  • Boost ports: Electroless nickel plated brass that won't flake or dull over time.
  • Solenoid valve: Stainless steel for long lasting durability.

Great looking part that fits perfectly in the engine bay in multiple locations so I could decide where I wanted it. CorkSport awesome instructions gave a couple suggestions and were very clear of how to setup the new Boost Controller. Functionally its working perfectly with much better control than the OEM part.

I was having issues with boost in my 07 MS3, I couldn't hit stock no matter what changes I made. I tried a lot of option including buying a new oem ebc, but then my tuner recommended to me installing a three port ebc and install it in interrupt mode. Suddenly I was hitting stock boost without any issues. I'm not saying it'll work for everyone but I'll be dang it worked for me. I mean regardless its a great mod to have and this CS one is awesome, its REALLY a sturdy piece of equipment and it looks great too. I installed mine up top instead of by the turbo and it was a very easy install. Thanks CS!

Flexible mounting options. Must have for tuning a turbo. Eliminates boost spike or creep. My tuner had an easier time getting an ideal boost curve. Great paired with the 18G CS Turbo. Very happy, high quality

So far so good. I have this installed in interrupt and it seems to hold the boost very well. I mounted it in the stock location because I didn't want the tubing to be routed too far away from the turbo. Just got the first tune from Freektune and my AP was telling me I was holding 22lbs on the stock K04. Holds boost all the way to redline and pulls a lot smoother than the stock solenoid. Doesn't seem to 'step' as much. When I was installing, the wire connected to the plug came out. I just stuck it back in and it was working properly, but be very careful when installing this because the wiring seems fragile. The unit itself is solid. Also the tubing didn't come with any clamps, although they fit on the nipples nice and snug, I would still like the reassurance that it is not coming off with all the engine movement from spirited driving. I will be buying some clamps and installing them when I put my TMM in. I would recommend that you do the same.

I received and installed the Corksport EBCS today and I chose to mount it to the firewall where I had my Turbosmart MBC located. The location keeps it away from the heat of the turbo and is a very convenient place to reach. The silicone tubing supplied was plenty long enough and fit quite well onto all the nipples/barbs. As I am in the middle of a tuning process with Richtune, the speed at which CS got me the EBCS was incredible, even with the base shipping. My tuner had me reroute the tubing to a T fitting in the BPV vacuum line instead of the nipple on the compressor housing(capped it), due to the fact that a restrictor in the compressor housing nipple causes issues with boost targets and vacuum flow to the EBCS. The CS EBCS is mounted in interrupt mode for an IWG other than the afformentioned change. I rated this product 5 stars due to its robust construction and results after running just one set of WOT logs. It does exactly as advertised and I will update with my tuners impressions of the CS EBCS upon completion of the tuning process. A+ job by Corksport once again!

Mounting it by the stock or aftermarket TMIC makes it much easier to install than the stock EBCS. The included tubing is plenty long enough for relocation. Also the secondary mounting location is east to access for any adjustments that need to be made. Well worth the upgrade especially after breaking the stock inlet hose hose valve. Another great mod made my CS!

Functionally, my MS3 quickly reaches and holds boost targets without any issue. Definitely mount this in the second location on the value cover. Due to the length of this piece, it hangs over the turbo quite a bit in the OEM mounting position and did not seem like a great place IMO. If you are curious, yes, this fits with an upgraded TMIC. CS support confirmed the images taken in the instructions were using their TMIC and I confirmed fitment with a CP-E TMIC. As far as the tuning went in my case: Installed the Corksport EBCS in "interrupt" mode with a stock turbo, CS SRI, upgraded TMIC and lowered the Waste Gate duty control by the advised 40% across the board. When I did this, the boost was only reaching the ~10 PSI the stock waste gate actuator will hold. I then slowly turned up the WGDC until I eventually came to the conclusion that with the stock turbo, stock exhaust and the restrictor pill installed in the compressor outlet, the WGDC did not require any adjustment to hit boost targets. At times, I did have some boost spikes. Targeting 17 and hit 19.5 ... higher than expected but nothing consistent or worthy of worry. If you have a bigger turbo, downpipe, or drilled out the pill in the k04, I would start low and turn up the WGDC slowly. Based on my current experience with this piece, I anticipate with a pro tune and addition upgrades, this EBCS will react quickly and hold steady.
