The CorkSport Advantage

High Flow/High Efficiency Intercoolers

  • Small Core: This core may be small, but it's mighty. Featuring 10mm runners that provide ample thermal efficiency while only inducing a 0.6psi pressure drop at 15psi on the OEM turbocharger. Measuring in at 23.5" Long x 6" Tall x 3.5" Thick
  • Big Core: Only available with the CorkSport crash bar, the big core is big and even more mighty. Featuring 10mm runners, the CorkSport big core has been proven on a 684whp car (credit to Sean Strout). Measuring in at 23.5" Long x 11" Tall x 3" Thick.

Performance Piping Design

  • The CorkSport FMIC Kit features a new variable diameter piping that reduces boost lag and improves throttle response.
  • Hot Side Pipe: The hot side pipe utilizes 2.25" diameter piping to get the hot boosted air to the intercooler fast to reduce boost lag.
  • Cold Side Pipe: The cold side pipe utilizes 2.5" diameter pipe in the first half and 3" diameter pipe in the last half to increase the volume of cold charge air directly in front of the throttle body. This reduces boost lag and improves throttle response.

Engine Mounted Piping

All the piping's mounting locations are located on the engine, allowing the piping to move with the engine reducing the chance for wear and tear.

Reinforced Silicone Couplers

9-layer (4-layers braided & 5-layers silicone) available in red, black, or blue.

Reinforced Silicone Coolant Hose

The cold piping routing interferes with the OEM coolant hose so we provide you with a new coolant hose that fits and functions great! Only available in black.

Direct Fit Crashbar

Included with the big core kit, the crashbar utilizes the OEM mounting locations on the chassis and the radiator core support while still providing the OEM tow point hook-up location.

Stainless Steel T-Bolt Clamps

Stainless steel T-bolt clamps with nylock nuts. Available in black zinc or polished.

Precision Manufacturing

CNC bent aluminum piping with bead rolled ends for a great fit and less chance to pop a coupler.

Quality Hardware

Manufactured from mild steel, the brackets are laser cut and bent then powder coated black for long lasting durability.

Polished Finish

All the piping is polished so it's ready to install right out of the box.

One of my favorite purchases for my speed so far. And works great with my GFB response blowoff. I read in a previous review somoen having problems with there after market blowoff, and I purchased anyway. And I'm glad I did. Made the car come together and pair up with the cst4 perfectly. Thanks for always coming through with the best mazdaspeed aftermarket parts as always guys!

Bought this a few weeks ago and as far as quality and function..... A+. That being said, have a few things I wasn’t really happy with. 1. The clamps hold it all together are a bit small, really had to put in way more effort than I should’ve to get these on. Even an 1/8 of an inch bigger would’ve saved me an hour or more. 2. The big core is exactly that, it’s huge. Which was a big reason why I bought it. I’m wanted to fill up that bayson r GV style grill. But..... it’s a bitch getting the splash pan and center lip piece back on, even after modding. That center lip piece went back on, but it was way stretched and looked awful. The piping and intercooler itself don’t give you a ton of space to work with down there. Within a few days, that center lip had caught enough wind and completely tore off the mounting points and totally trashed the entire splash pan front section. Now even if I buy a new center lip and try to get it back on there, the plastic tabs are gone and have nothing to Mount to. So..... if yours ends up like mine, be prepared to spend even more money to fix your bumper and front section of the splash pan. I work at a dealership and had two of our top techs (one being Mazda certified for many years) and this still happened. 3. The piping route runs right next to your intake and BPV and I have an HKS setup for BOV, that was a huge pain to wedge in there and almost had to go back to the stock unit. So be prepared if your running a larger bov Now.... most of the parts on my car are from corksport and I’ve had an A+ experience with every one..... except this. Now these aren’t massive issues.... sure. But the fact that I’m surfing the internet now trying to find replacement parts for the lip and front section of the splash guard and possibly a new front bumper since it completely ruined the mounting points for said lip is a real bummer after spending $1300 ish after shipping and everything. Hopefully I can figure out a way to retain my current bumper and ghetto rig something to make the replace parts work and mount to the car

First off I want to say that this is a nice quality piece intercooler kit. I purchased the big core with the front crash bar and everything lines up correctly according to the instructions it comes with. Air temps are much better with this front mount especially on hot summer days compare to the stock top mount. I bought this kit for a good price from a local that sold his ms3 and never got around to installing this kit so I can't complain much. With that being said I only have couple of things I didn't like with this kit, first off half of the clamps that comes with the kit is completely useless as they are nearly impossible to put on which is kinda dissapointing considering that the kit is sold for 1k+. Second, I bought a Turbosmart Dual Port bpv prior to this intercooler kit but based on the design of the piping and how it's routed I now literally have a useless $300 bpv just sittting around as the piping doesn't clear the height therefore I had to put the stock bov back on which fits fine but if you have the stock bypass hose you have to fidget with it a little bit because the position is a little off. Next thing is the the bpv flange isn't threaded so make sure you have some nuts and bolts handy. Other than that the intercooler performs great as throttle response feels different.

Once I got the FMIC in it preformed great. The problem was getting it installed. First, half of the clamps that are provided with the intercooler did not fit no matter what I did. I ended up going to the auto parts store to buy standard hose clamps. Second, The bypass valve which they don't mention in the instructions on mounting it to the hot pipe which is not threaded. You will need 2 bolts and nuts to mount this. Last, there is no provided bolt for relocating the evap solenoid and bracket, hope your like me and saved all of the nuts and bolts from your previous Corksport installs. If your a do it your selfer and this is a weekend project, good luck contacting someone for help with your install as Corksport is not open on weekends. Needles to say, it took a lot longer than the 5 - 6 hour estimate.
