Description
The Performance Top Mount Intercooler (TMIC) provides solid power gains and a great value to the Mazdaspeed 3, MS6 and CX7 turbo. Made from CorkSport’s own custom cast end tanks which are TIG welded to a 3.0” thick bar and plate core, the Mazdaspeed TMIC provides added performance by removing the bottleneck restriction of the stock intercooler and increasing resistance to heat soak by using thicker materials. The cold pipe connection is CNC milled and drilled for a leak proof connection and all bolt holes have been capped off.
The Performance Mazda Advantage
Better Cooling:
16 Rows of Cooling Fins help drastically lower post turbo air temperatures. Proven on a SuperFlow test bench to provide 46% more airflow over the stock intercooler.
More Capacity:
With 3.0" of thickness, the extra capacity allows significant cooling capabilities. During testing, the Mazdaspeed 3 TMIC showed an average decrease in pressure across the core by 53% and an increase in overall efficiency of 25% over the stock intercooler.
Cast Aluminum:
End tanks made of cast aluminum are durable and long lasting. Plus with a bar and plate intercooler core, you remove bottlenecking for more power with less boost.
The CorkSport Advantage
- Optional Aluminum Shroud For maximum performance and airflow, or maintain your factory engine shroud to keep a stealth look.
- Reduces pre-detonation (knock) of the fuel air charge
- Increased resistance to heat soak thanks to larger capacity and better airflow
- Fits the 2007-2009 Mazdaspeed 3, 2006-2007 Mazdaspeed 6, 2010+ Mazdaspeed 3, and Cx7
- Choose from custom finishing options Rolled Finish for a Gloss look, or Sand Blasted for a Rough Matte finish.
- Corksport Service and Support Receive full color installation instructions, all of the needed installation hardware, and knowledgeable telephone installation support
*Stock shroud molding may cause some fins to bend slightly. This will NOT affect performance or efficiency of your TMIC. The easiest and recommended way of removing the offending culprit is to trim the TMIC shroud. See Shroud Fitment Document for more details.

Nice quality, easy install, OEM equipment reattached without a problem and I live in California and haven't had any problems with smog check... (knock on wood!)

Quick and easy install. Noticible improvement in low rpms and smoother spool up. Able to repeateldy do pulls with minimal power loss and less overheating. Would highly recommend over stock TMIC. Great product!

Direct fit and so much better than I could ever have imagined. Took it out for a run today in 95 degree heat. The manifold stays cold to the touch even after hard driving!

This think is awesome. Spool is supa quick now,and it looks great in there. I do highly recommend keeping the shroud for you gen 1 guys. Also be careful with the cold pipe bolts

Love the new look under the hood, functional, cooler boost temps, and paired with a proper tune (DramaTune!) - this makes for a responsive, impressive setup for my daily!

VERY HAPPY WITH THE PERFORMANCE THE TMIC

Using this TMIC on a GEN1 MS3 in tandem with the stock shroud will leave you disappointed. As others have said, doing so leads to bent peripheral fins. If it doesn't all fit perfectly, state this in your instructions Corksport. State that using with stock shroud will bend your intercooler fins. Corksport usually delivers, but they dropped the ball on this one.

Before I get to the product itself, Corksports TMIC replaced the OEM TMIC on my 06 Speed6. The OE TMIC saw over 243,000km. It looked heinous. Corksport's TMIC is a huge beautiful beast of shiny goodness. It stands out in the engine bay. Now, my engine thanks both Corksport and myself for buying their TMIC. It loves this intercooler and so do I. You do notice it's open flow higher in the rpm range and it's your choice if you want to rip through the band or not. From my experience with it, it was a rather subtle break in where you knew something had changed for the positive but couldnt quite isolate it. IE: after I installed it, I didnt notice the sound of my turbo spooling as much and then I noticed I was shifting out of second much quicker than usual. All good signs right? Riiiight. Corksport nailed this product. From the ease of install to the finish with rolling welds and then the added performance and in theory, controlled temp's, it's all here.

Giving it 5 stars because it's doing a good job I'm running a custom tune with it but it's pretty much not getting the cold air the front mounts get. This top mount will get heat soaked eventually but not nearly as fast as the oem top mount
