Description

Installing the CorkSport Camber Plates on your Mazda 3 or Mazdaspeed 3 allows for wider wheels and tires and better handling performance when driving hard from the increased range of camber adjustment. The stock strut top mounts can be directly replaced with the CS Camber Plates whether you are on stock suspension or lowering springs. The camber plates are designed with a pillow-ball bearing to eliminate the rubber found in the stock components to provide you with more feedback while driving. After installation, you can fine-tune the camber setting from -1.5 to +0.5 degrees to hone in on the ideal amount for your setup. Keep on reading below for additional information on the CorkSport Camber Plates.

The CorkSport Advantage

Fitment & Design:

The design of the CorkSport Camber Plates is derived from our coilovers, so they offer the same great fitment and quality. The CS Camber Plates are a direct replacement for the stock strut top. This allows you to get camber adjustment while utilizing the stock suspension setup without switching over to coilovers. The camber plates can also be used with lowering springs to provide additional fitment options. Compared to the factory rubber design, the CS camber plates feature a pillow-ball bearing that eliminates the flex found in the stock parts. This leads to more feedback from the car, so you have a better understanding of what the suspension is doing. For installation, there are two options; the first is to not modify the stock strut towers so that the car can be put back into stock later on if needed, but it does not allow for camber adjustment when installed. The other option is to cut and enlarge the opening in the strut tower to gain easy access to adjustment of the plates so they do not have to be removed to be adjusted. Whichever installation method is selected, the camber plates will offer the same great performance.

Camber Adjustment:

The main advantage of installing the CS Camber Plates is the amount of adjustment they offer, ranging from -1.5 to +0.5 degrees. The extra camber adjustment allows you to fit a larger wheel and tire setup if you want to utilize all available room without damaging the front fenders. The additional adjustment also lets you fine-tune the camber settings to find the ideal spot for your driving style when on track or cruising the backroads.

Materials & Hardware:

Description: The CS Camber Plates' bottom plate is made of steel to ensure the strength needed to properly retain the pillow ball bearing during demanding driving conditions. The top plate, on the other hand, is CNC machined out of 6061-T6 aluminum. This helps reduce weight while still providing the strength to mount the camber plate to the strut tower. All the necessary hardware is also included to ensure the installation of the camber plates is straightforward so you can get back on the road as soon as possible.

  • Installation of the CorkSport Camber plates will raise the front of your Mazda approximately 5mm. Use of an air impact may be required for installation. Before air impact use, set the air pressure to 45psi.

Can the camber plate be paired with KW V3 coilovers? **CorkSport Reply: The camber plates are designed to be used with the OEM upper bearing. If the KW use the same diameter as the stock springs at the top then they should work.

haven't test it "really" use, but for my new wheels set up, it will fit perfectly. with blistein B4, H&R spring; and 225/45/18 instead of 205/55/16 (so 14mm raduis bigger), the wheels often touch arch. with the bigger CS's plate, i shouldn't touch anymore. I have measure 11millimeters big than OEM top plate I have one advise, let proffesional do the job

Back story: My MS3 has always driven straight and true until I found the wrong end of a pothole a few weeks ago. Since then I had it aligned three different times at two different shops and the numbers were reading within limits but the car still pulled right. However the Camber had been moved from its factory position on -1.2 to -.9, which caused the car pull right. Without adjustable camber bolts there was nothing the shops could do to attempt to adjust it back to drive straight. A little bit of research lead me to these camber plates and I'm very glad I went with them. When I first looked into them I was having a hard time swallowing the fact I needed to drill two 3 1/8" holes into the car but after eventually getting past it the install was actually not that bad. The instructions were awesome, as usual, and the online video of pulling the strut made it very clear what to do. Luckily I had access to a car lift and a lot of tools but keep in mind you will need to buy about $30-35 worth of additional equipment (hole saw 3 1/8", file/sanding stone, spray paint, and rent spring compressors) of course drilling the hole is optional but it seems pointless to do all that work and not be able to adjust the camber easily. Take your time with drilling the hole and save yourself a headache and use a new bit with a good electric drill with plenty of power, the sheet metal is thick. Install took about 4 hours with a lunch break and taking my time. Afterwards I took it for a drive and there was no popping, binding, or unusual vibes coming from the front end. The product was great quality and looks as sharp as it is built. Upon install the alignment shop was able to bring the car back to driving straight and it feels solid again up front. Thanks Corksport for saving me the hassle of shotguning replacement parts on the front end with these adjustable cambers!!
