SkyActiv-G 2.5T Boost Tube for Mazda 6, CX-5, & CX-9

Description

For Mazda 6 aftermarket performance parts, the CorkSport Turbo Boost Tube can help your car acheive higher boost, and better reliability. The boost tube also fits on the Mazda CX-5 and CX-9. Through testing, we found that the stock 1-ply rubber boost tube expands and contracts at stock power levels, which is less than ideal. No worry, the CorkSport upgraded 5-ply reinforced silicone hose is much stronger and stops unwanted expansion from your turbo Mazda boost pressure which eliminates a potential failure down the road whether your car is stock or modified.

Performance Inspired

The CorkSport Performance Boost Tube Upgrade for the Mazda 2.5T engine is made to give you the most out of your car at an affordable price. The OEM tube expands 12% at 20psi (peak pressure we have seen at intercooler outlet) when cold, and even more when heated up by the engine due to the use of flexible rubber with 1 layer of reinforcement. This expansion robs your car of consistent boost levels and hurts throttle response. The CS boost tube expands 3x less than OEM when cold and will stay consistently strong at higher temps and elevated boost levels due to its high temp silicone and 5-layers of reinforcement.

Future Proof Your Ride

The stock Mazda boost tube for the 2.5t engine is made from very similar, if not the same material, as the OEM Mazdaspeed boost tubes which were prone to cracking & failure as they age. It’s easy to see the 2.5T having much of the same problem down the road, causing boost leaks and a poorly running car. The CorkSport boost tube eliminates this issue as silicone is longer lasting, stronger, and more resistant to the elements than regular rubber. If this is the first mod in your build, the CS boost tube is ready for elevated boost levels that could otherwise cause the OEM tube to fail prematurely.

Quality Hardware

Each CorkSport Performance Boost Tube comes with upgraded T-bolt clamps. They offer more secure clamping than the OEM worm gear style clamps and a wider clamping area to ensure a good seal. Plus, they are made from polished stainless steel for a great look and high corrosion resistance.

Installed along with the Turbo Intake combo. The intake install was w/o issue. The boost tube popped off under first test drive (another reviewer had the same issue) so we replaced the supplied clamp with one from the shop and tightened as much as possible (minus 1 star). Appears to be holding after a second test drive on the highway etc. Lovely extra boost kick and turbo noises. Next up CS split cat exhaust then FAB 9 Tune!

Noticeable improvement overtaking in higher gears as it doesn't flex as much while holding boost, over stock. Acceleration feels more aggressive and doesn't lose pressure as much as oem when shifting through the gears in higher rpm's. Installed on a 21.5 CX5 Turbo from the top..it's doable unless you have big hands or a bad back. The bolts to remove are easier to remove than I expected by other reviews, just had to use both hands to support the ratchet at times. FYI make sure you tighten the new clamps a lot! I thought I did..checked it after a short drive and it almost came off.

Installed in my 2019 cx9. Preferably replace it from underneath the car because of the clamp in the throttlebody and removing the stock tube. More responsive in lower gear acceleration. BOV engages as low as 2k rpm instead of 3.5-4.5k rpm with the stock tube.

Kind of a pain to uninstall the oem one because the clamps are in terrible positions, but installing the corksport one was a lot easier comparatively. A lot better quality, and a bit bigger diameter also. Right off the bat I notice a lot better throttle response off the line. Almost eliminates the turbo lag, which honestly stock it a pretty long turbo lag so this is a great upgrade. I can’t wait to install my Ram intake and Axle Back exhaust as well!

Great quality product. As in previous reviews the clamp by the throttle body was almost impossible to get to, so a tip for you all...if you have access to a hoist it only took about 15-20 minutes to install from underneath. Extremely easy access and lots of space for your hands.

I have to say this CS boot tube really DOES give me better throttle response, both at standing start tip-in and for passing. I'm impressed!

Austin Hull

Kind of a pain to install but definitely worth it, the tube is very sturdy. I had a problem with the tube popping off after install that shut my entire car down... my bad. Beware of that also.

I liked the heftier construction of the CS tube compared to the OEM one, and it looks great once in place. That said, I agree with other reviews here: A) the OEM clamp up by the throttle body looked like it was purposely installed to make it nearly impossible to remove, and B) you need small hands and arms to do this. By the time I was finished my forearms and knuckles looked like I'd been in a fight. I guess I was, and the car won!

Bing

I installed it, the low speed throttle response is more sensitive

Tim

The boost tube is definitely a lot heftier than the stock tube. I was surprised how easily you could collapse the OEM one. The install wasn't too bad, but it's very tight for anyone with medium to larger arms/hands. My knuckles, hands & forearms got beaten up during the process. Feels like it may have a little more throttle response, but I haven't done any real hard runs with it yet. I got it for more steady boost levels, and for future proofing...with bigger mods down the road. And for only $90, not a bad mod, IMO.
