Enhance the reliability of your engine and improve performance and fuel economy with the CorkSport Oil Catch Can. By adding an oil catch can, you will increase the longevity of your engine by helping keep unclean crankcase vapors and oil out of the engines intake. Made of billet aluminum for strength, the CorkSport Oil Catch Can includes everything you need for a complete install. Don’t let your Mazda get contaminated by sediment, crankcase vapors, or unclean oil. With the CorkSport Oil Catch Can you will remove unwanted debris that would normally contaminate the intake tract. This allows for cleaner air entering the engine, lower detonation rates and increases longevity.

The CorkSport Advantage:

  • Fitment:2007-2013 Mazdaspeed 3, Mazdaspeed 6, CX-7.
  • Superior Construction: Made from high grade billet machined aluminum for strength and low weight.
  • Unique Cyclonic Design: Uses vacuum force to separate the oil and contaminants from the air and includes an internal disk to prevent backflow.
  • Easy to Check: Twist the dipstick to check how full it is.
  • Complete Mounting Kit: Catch can comes complete with a black powder coated steel mounting bracket and 11 ft. of reinforced silicone hose for multiple mounting locations.*
  • Drain Valve Kit: Emptying the can is as simple as a flick of the wrist.
  • CorkSport Service and Support: Receive a two year limited warranty, full color installation instructions, all of the needed installation hardware, and knowledgeable telephone support.

Product Advisory Note
  • This kit includes instructions and supplies for fitment to a Mazdaspeed 3, all other applications may require additional materials or custom modifications.
  • If you have the Cold Air Intake, you will need to find an alternate installation location for the catch can.
  • Installation note: If you live in an area which gets below zero you need to empty the catch can before the temperatures drop to maintain the functionality.
  • Replacing the OEM PCV system with an aftermarket Oil Catch Can System may allow smells of gasoline and oil to ventilate into the engine bay and thus the cabin depending on HVAC settings; this is normal of an Oil Catch Can System especially during idling situations and after shutting off the engine. If excessive smell is noticed, inspect hose connections and drain the catch can.
  • Recommended to inspect & verify the PCV is working correctly when installing the OCC Kit. Replace if needed.

Installation Instructions for CorkSport Oil Catch Can

I bought this after installing a new turbo, cobb down pipe fuel pump internals etc. As soon as I installed it, I was blowing clouds of smoking at idle. So while I was removing it, I had to take apart the bottom plumbing of my front mount intercooler and when I did that out fell about a quarter of a quart of oil. Once I went back to stock, everything went back to normal. I now have a 240 dollar paperweight and I'm too pissed off to even use it as a paperweight that I would have to stare at. I'm surprised at how this would not be considered a liability....and YES I did install it properly.
It was pain to have it install specially getting to the PCV, once install my MAF CAL was all out of tune. was a pain to have it all back to -.016LTFT but was done.

working great less oil but the TB and valve cover, and i can see the nasty oil that pick up as far as i can tell working amazing.
Will this fit the 2009 mazda 3 sedan sport i 2.0L Version?
I'm thinking of purchasing this product for my Speed6. by reading these instructions, will all the locations that are on the speed3 be identical to that of a speed6?
I have had this catch can installed and working properly for over a year now, this will be the second Canadian winter. The catch can works flawlessly and does not freeze ever if installed correctly. I have found that during the warm and summer months, I catch less moisture/residue than in the colder and winter months. Presumably this is due to condensation buildup/climate conditions outside and inside the engine. During winter months I am finding the catch can requires emptying approx every 500km, and during summer approx every 800km. Hope this is helpful to anyone wondering these things like I once did. Thanks corksport, excellent product!
Is a OCC needed for just running a cs stage two intake and exhaust?
My catch can works great in the summer but it freezes in the winter in the midwest.
Where exactly is th einlet and outlet for this system routed too. on most cars they have the inlet going from the valve cover to the can and then the outlet to the intake manifold if im correct on that. I have the short ram intake and theres still the hose that goes from the valve cover to the turbo inlet pipe and naturally it will releas fumes and oils into this pipe. So essentially couldnt you use 2 of the catch cans?
Where would you mount the can at? I just orderd my stage 2 SRI and the HKS BOV.

CorkSport Reply:The kit includes a specific fit installation instruction guide for the Mazdaspeed 3. Any other models should be able to use the bracket supplied with the OCC to install in almost any location.
1st catch can leaks around the sight tube. Had to exchange it twice and yet it still leaks--I even pressure tested it myself. Cannot recommend that product..perhpas that is why it is discontinued. Customer service would have suggested credit for old catch can towards new. I was a loyal customer up until then but not at a small discount for new catch can.

Do I need to clean out the filters in this Catch Can or will draining the oil out when needed simply be enough?

Is there a recommended oil and weight? Would that change when running the catch can? For a 2011 MS3. Thank you.

Would you do everything the same from routing and placement of the catch can for a 09 mazda cx7. I was a bit confused on how it was routed but I think I understand it from the previous questions that were answered.

Will the standard location work with a SRI?

Why is this routing chosen for the OCC as opposed to a more simpler one such as the damond ms unit. Seems like itwill more pressure on the crankcase doing it the CS way. Please explain the benefits and the cons.

What size is the ID of the vent hose? I am interested in using this in a non-Mazda application. I had one on my MS6 but sold it with the car!

Are there concerns of aluminum can causing the hot engine air to condense in the winter and then freeze? I've hear of this in many applications during the winter, but don't like the idea of uninstalling for winter since it's such a pain to work with the pcv valve on my speed 3. Would an insulated jacket with a coolant line spiraling around the can help with any condensation and freezing?

Hello, is this oil catch tank is suitable for diesel engines - e.g. Mazda 6 CD 143 p.s. with DPF? Please send the answer to my e-mail. Thanks! BR Orlin Necov
