Twas the Night Before Christmas, the Corksport Version<\/strong><\/h2>\n

<\/h2>\n

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.<\/p>\n

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
\nIn hopes that some new parts<\/a>\u00a0soon would be there.<\/p>\n

The Car guy was comfy and snug in his bed,
\nWhile visions of racetracks<\/a> looped in his head.
\nThe Mazda in park, the keys tucked away,
\nJust one more night of sleep,
\nthen we\u2019ll all race away.<\/p>\n

When out of the blue, a thought came to mind,
\nwhy on earth is he waiting?<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s go for a drive!
\nHe grabbed up the keys, woke the girl with a shout
\nHey baby, it\u2019s Christmas and we\u2019re headed out!
\nThe family forgotten and plans set aside
\nWe\u2019re headed to the track, let\u2019s go for a drive.<\/p>\n

It was simple and planned, so quickly it seemed,
\nin her sleepy state
\nit seemed just a dream.
\nOkay mister, whatever you say.
\nShe slipped on her slippers and they were on their way.<\/p>\n

Car guy beamed from head to toe,
\nhe knew their destination<\/a>
\njust one place to go.
\nThe track wasn\u2019t far, and the traffic was light, This will be the best Present
\nSuch a simple delight!<\/p>\n

No family, no mess, no ties and no dress,
\nJust you and me girl, this 1 time request.<\/p>\n

They got to the track in no time at all,
\nSparkling white on the ground just a light snow fall
\nWhen over to his right something caught his eye
\n\u201cWe\u2019re not alone\u201d thought the Car guy
\nOf course to his wondering eyes there appeared
\nAn old style sleigh being pulled by reindeer?
\nHe tossed it in gear to confirm his delight
\nHe shook his head, disbelief at the sight<\/p>\n

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
\nHe knew in a moment it must be St Nick.
\nMore rapid than mustangs as drivers they came,
\nAnd he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!<\/p>\n

“Now Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!
\nOn, Comet! On, Cupid! on, on Donner and Blitzen!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Don\u2019t over do it boys! Steer clear of the wall!
\nNow dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!”<\/p>\n

They were so quick, so fast, as if they could fly,
\nCar guy thought to himself, perhaps we should try.
\nRevving the engine he pulled right on through
\nTo the sleigh full of Toys, and St Nicholas too.<\/p>\n

The smile and twinkle in that old mans eye
\nMade car guy grin and look to the sky.
\nNo flying, not crashing, we\u2019ll take on the course
\nThe old man smiled, do you know of this force?<\/p>\n

A simple nod of his head is all it took
\nHe looked over the sleigh and each tiny hoof.
\nCarguy turned and looked over his opponent,
\nJust giving in to this memorable moment.<\/p>\n

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
\nAnd his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot.
\nA bundle of toys<\/a> he had sorted in the back,
\nhe looked like a veteran, he could drive ’round this track.<\/p>\n

His eyes \u00adhow they twinkled! His dimples how merry!
\nHis cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
\nHis droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
\nAnd the beard of his chin was as white as the snow.
\nThe stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
\nAnd the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.<\/p>\n

You know what to do Car guy said to his girl,
\nShe hopped right out and gave her scarf a twirl.
\nOn three boys, please be safe and be clean
\nShe raised it in the air, how fitting it\u2019s green.<\/p>\n

A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
\nOld Saint Nick might be something to dread.
\nHis whip in hand, he gave it a crack,
\nAnd off they went, leaving behind the toy sack.<\/p>\n

The wind blowing through that snowy white beard,
\nCarguy could hear the sound of the cold in his ears.
\nJingling as they went, the sleigh in tow,
\nThe reindeer were fast, damn car is feeling slow.
\nCurses thought Carguy as he slammed on the gas,
\nI want to beat him, we need to be fast.<\/p>\n

He awoke with a start, to the sound of her voice,<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Knock it off Carguy or I\u2019ll give you a choice.
\nTo the couch with you if you can\u2019t control,
\nYour twitching and turning and stupid body roll.
\nHe laughed to himself, of course just a dream,
\nBut what’s in his hand, a scarf of green?<\/p>\n

He went to the window and looked into the night
\nHe heard the jingle and saw a plain sight
\nThere he was right there in the drive,
\nSt Nick and his sleigh, of course he\u2019s alive.<\/p>\n

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a yell,
\nGet on it boys, we won, all is well.
\nCarguy shook his head and laughed at it all,
\nHe would swear that he saw,<\/p>\n

St Nick and his reindeer give him the \u201cpaw\u201d
\nCarguy learned something that\u2018s true,
\nDon\u2019t race Santa and his eight reindeer crew.
\nHe looked into the sky, to see them in flight
\n“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good\u00adnight!”<\/p>\n
