We have noticed in the past year more and more people have been getting into a Mazdaspeed platform, and before too long they are modding the car to test its capabilities. \u00a0<strong>Derrick is our road course guy in his 2015 Mazda 3, and I am the guy that likes the 1320.<\/strong> So what do you need to be able to run at the track? Protecting yourself, and making sure the car is properly put together can affect if you will be able to run your Mazdaspeed down the 1320.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h1><b>Clothing<\/b><\/h1>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You will not be able to race your Mazdaspeed unless you wear pants, and closed toe shoes. \u00a0Every track you go to will require you to wear these two things. <strong>Every little bit counts especially if you have a high horsepower Mazdaspeed.<\/strong> \u00a0We have all seen the videos of accidents happening. I would hate to roll my Mazdaspeed, break glass, and have glass bits hitting my legs. So don\u2019t forget those pants, and yoga pants do not count to all of you lady drivers.<\/span><\/h2>\n<h1><b>Helmet<\/b><\/h1>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10213\" src=\"https:\/\/corksport.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Drag-Strip-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"634\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/corksport.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Drag-Strip-2.jpg 634w, https:\/\/corksport.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Drag-Strip-2-300x284.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 634px) 100vw, 634px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each track has standard rules when it comes to safety equipment. \u00a0Depending on how fast your Mazdaspeed runs will determine what safety equipment you will need in order to race. \u00a013.99 and faster you will need to make sure and wear a helmet. <strong>Also, if you run 13.99 and faster, you will not be able to have a passenger in the car with you.<\/strong> \u00a0If it is your first time at the track and you run faster than a 13.99 without a helmet, the track officials will ask you to wear a helmet moving forward. Failure to comply could get you removed from the track.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h1><b>Vehicle Maintenance<\/b><\/h1>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-10214\" src=\"https:\/\/corksport.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/BlackVC-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"394\" srcset=\"https:\/\/corksport.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/BlackVC-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/corksport.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/BlackVC-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/corksport.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/BlackVC-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 525px) 100vw, 525px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is probably the most important part of the inspection process when going to the track. \u00a0If you have been racing when oil\/coolant dumps onto the track then you know how long it can take to get that stuff cleaned up. \u00a0Here are a few things the officials look for when you are trying to race your Mazdaspeed.<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/corksport.com\/mazdaspeed-3-ecu-relocation-battery-box.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CorkSport Battery Box<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is mounted correctly with a battery tie down<\/span><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nothing else loose in the engine bay like my <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/corksport.com\/mazda-boost-control-solenoid.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CorkSport Electronic Boost Control Solenoid<\/span><\/a><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Make sure no coolant or oil is leaking from the engine bay. \u00a0So be careful with our <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/corksport.com\/mazdaspeed-oil-temperature-gauge.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CorkSport Oil Temp\/Pressure Gauge<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> when installing it with the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/corksport.com\/mazdaspeed-oil-temperature-and-pressure-gauge-adapter-plate.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CorkSport Sandwich Plate<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Good tires<\/span><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Working seat belts<\/span><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They will also make you turn on your headlights when the sun goes down<\/span><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These things are non-negotiable. \u00a0If your Mazdaspeed does not pass any of these then the track officials will not let you run your car down the track. \u00a0All you fast guys out there need to double check with your local track to see what you have to do to the car depending on how fast you run.<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10215\" src=\"https:\/\/corksport.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Drag-Strip-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" srcset=\"https:\/\/corksport.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Drag-Strip-3.jpg 600w, https:\/\/corksport.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Drag-Strip-3-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/corksport.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Drag-Strip-3-1280x720.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<h1><b>Additional Safety Equipment<\/b><\/h1>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you do have a Mazdaspeed capable of 11\u2019s or faster, then you will be required to do a lot more to the car in order to safely run. \u00a0I would double check with your local track, but every track I have been to require you to have a roll cage, and a fire suit if you are running 11\u2019s or faster in the 1320. \u00a0Also, if you have your battery relocated into the hatch, you will need a kill switch mounted somewhere on the rear of the car just in case you roll when racing.<\/span><\/h2>\n<h1><b>READERS BEWARE:<\/b><\/h1>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Going to the track is highly addicting. \u00a0CorkSport will not be responsible for empty wallets in an attempt to make your Mazdaspeed go faster. \u00a0CorkSport will also not be held responsible for pulled muscles in your cheeks from having too much fun. \u00a0However, if you must modify your Mazdaspeed, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/corksport.com\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CorkSport<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will be there to help you reach your goals!
