The CorkSport Skid Tray is manufactured from 11 gauge aluminum to provide a solid layer of protection when compared to the thin factory counterpart without adding too much weight. The CS skid tray is designed with OEM fitment in mind to make installation easy and has retained the oil filter and drain access cover as well as the air duct on AWD models to provide cooling to the transfer case. Whether you are planning on going off-road, hitting the track (literally), or have a stance & lowered Mazda; the CS skid tray offers much-needed protection from hazards and other road debris. Precision Fitment and Design:
The CS Skid Tray was designed to utilize the factory mounting locations to ensure that there is no need for any cutting, drilling or other permanent modifications during installation and retains many of the OEM fasteners. By keeping the factory two piece design it allows us to offer a skid tray that works with both the Mazda3 and CX-30 while also being easier to install.
Easy to Use:
An easy access panel is incorporated into the CS Skid Tray so that oil changes are done quickly without needing to remove the two main sections. In the design of the CS Skid Tray we have included an air duct that is similar to the one included in the factory AWD skid tray to ensure that the front differential stays cool during operation.
Design & Fitment:
The OEM splash shield is just that, a splash shield and will only provide protection from water and small debris. When lowering your car or taking it off on a gravel road, there is a much greater chance of coming across large rocks or other objects that the factory splash shield will not handle. The CS Skid Plate offers an increased amount of protection to your motor and other crucial under-hood components whether you are lowered or plan to drive through harsh terrain such as forest roads or through snow.
Design & Fitment:
The CorkSport Skid Tray is laser cut from 11 gauge (0.090”) aluminum and is precisely shaped so that installation is straightforward. Upgrading from the OEM plastic skid tray to aluminum offers substantially more protection from objects such as rocks and other road debris while also keeping the additional weight to a minimum. From experience with our other generation Mazda 3 skid plates, we have seen them withstand quite the beating. For the supplied hardware we include stainless steel button head bolts to offer protection against corrosion and to also lower the profile of the bolt head to help reduce it from getting snagged on anything.

The skid plate is a necessary upgrade from the flimsy plastic Mazda uses, especially when lowering the car. It’s made out of a really nice thick sheet of aluminum and is easy to install. I love how it also still provides the cooling duct for the transfer case and the access hole for quick oil changes! I ran over a thick sheet of metal on the highway that I couldn't see (it was at night) and the skid plate performed its job flawlessly with zero damage to any components!

After waiting over 6 months for the stock replacement parts to never arrive, I purchased this skid plate. It is the same price as the stock replacement parts, which are made of cardboard and plastic. Installation was easy. I am quite happy with the additional protection.
