Description
Introducing the CorkSport Rear Sway Bar for 2019+ Mazda 3 and CX-30. Improve your handling characteristics, reduce body roll, and reduce understeer by adding a sway bar to the rear of your GEN4. We tested multiple diameters and settled on a 7/8” diameter solid bar to ensure minimal impact on ride quality but with a big bonus to handling.
With fitments for both AWD and FWD setups, you can be sure there is an upgrade that’s perfect for your car. Read on for details and check out the release blog for even more info!

The CorkSport Advantage
Racing Inspired:
With our experience racing our old Mazda 2, we knew right away that we had to figure out a rear sway bar for the GEN4’s torsion beam suspension to help fight understeer. Since there is no OEM sway bar, we had to get creative. The CorkSport GEN4 Mazda 3 sway bar bolts directly to the torsion beam of the vehicle, similar to our Mazda 2 Torsion Bar. Since a torsion beam essentially acts as a sway bar, adding on extra material offers the same effect as moving to a bigger bar with a more typical suspension.
Handling Boost:
The main goal of the CS rear sway bar is to improve handling. By effectively stiffening the torsional rigidity of the rear torsion beam, understeer is reduced, body roll is reduced, and handling feel is improved. We chose a 7/8” diameter solid bar for the right balance of understeer reduction without dangerous oversteer. You can get the car to rotate if you’re really attacking an autocross course but don’t worry, it is perfectly controllable and safe for daily driving and hitting a backroad.
Fitment Focused:
While the concept is similar to our Mazda 2 bar, the design had to be totally unique in order to fit the GEN4 Mazda 3 just like an OEM part. We ended up with a separate design for both the FWD and AWD versions to really optimize fitment. There is one minor drawback for installation though. Some plastic aerodynamics pieces must either be removed or trimmed for fitment. We tried to avoid this; however, it was a necessary evil in order to utilize optimal mounting locations.
Materials & Manufacturing:
Like all CorkSport sway bars the GEN4 Mazda 3 bar is made from 4130 steel for great strength and consistent performance over time. We finish off the bars in CS blue powder coat for FWD vehicles and red powder coat for AWD vehicles. This ensures a great look and corrosion resistance. Each rear sway bar kit also comes with all the hardware needed for installation, all of which is made from stainless steel so it’s sure to stand the test of time. We even use locking nuts so you can be sure your sway bar stays where it’s supposed to.
- Removal or minor trimming of plastic aerodynamic components is required for installation. See installation instructions for details.
- AWD vehicles that are extremely low and/or bagged will need to verify clearance from the top of the sway bar to all other components of the vehicle to ensure safe operation.
- Cannot install on AWD vehicles with a lift kit. The sway bar will interfere with the differential/driveshaft system.

So yup, the Corksport rear swaybar is definitely a nice addition to the handling of my 2019 na 6sp mt. Easy to install and, despite expecting to notice a bit of a change in body roll on corners, I was really impressed by how much this simple and relatively (as far as mods go) inexpensive upgrade improved the feel in corners. Gotta love my country roads ????

Just installed the rear sway bar over the weekend. As advertised, this install was straight forward and simple. The only difficult part was cutting/trimming the plastic shield on each side. My Mazda 3 is my third Mazda and this is my third sway bar purchased from CorkSport. The drive is so much more fun now that body roll is reduced.

Great way to bring this car to life! Really helps in cornering and changes the driving dynamics overall.

I'm writing this from the pits of the first autocross event I've participated in since installing this swaybar, and it completely changed the behavior of my Mazda3 Turbo at the limit. This is a must-have mod for any enthusiast with a 4th gen, it makes the car infinitely more playful and enjoyable, tilting the handling balance from heavy understeer to light but controllable oversteer. In normal driving, the difference to comfort is minimal, the rear just feels slightly stiffer. As far as I'm concerned this is how the car should feel from the factory

The RSB is a game changer to the handling of these cars. Some might say it’s really not necessary since the 4th gen has a torsion beam suspension in the rear, but it truly benefits tremendously from it (hence why it’s used in Mazda2 racecars that have same suspension). The RSB allowed me to kick the end out on curvy roads aiding in removing that disgusting understeer. It also made the car turn a lot flatter on the track.

Easy installation. Works great. Install tip: Use zip ties before tightening the sway bar. It will help with increase bar clearance.

If you want your 4th gen to handle better this mod is a must. The installation process wasn't hard thanks to Corksport's instructions. The handling was dramatically improved thanks to the rear end being a lot stiffer.

Amazing. Should just come in a kit with the lowering springs. Changes the entire way the rear of this car handles. Floppy noodle to firm and controlled. Nice!

This was the first mod on my 2023 Mazda3 AWD Hatch. Took me right around 2 hours to install using ramps to lift the car as someone with zero experience working on cars. Can definitely feel a reduction in body roll and can take on on-ramps more confidently at faster speeds. When turning sharply, it almost feels like the car is squatting in the back, not in a bad way, but I think that the increased rigidity in the back has emphasized the roll in the front. I think the addition of a front strut tower brace would really bring the whole package together. That being said, I took the car out to the Blue Ridge Parkway and am pleased to say that the car handles tighter and is more fun in the twisties. I will be participating in two autocross events at the beginning of August and will update this review with my experience with the rear sway bar upgrade installed compared to before.

I own a 2022 Mazda 3 Turbo Hatchback, so this review will be in respect to that. Quality and Installation: The quality is great, and it is really heavy duty. Installation was not too difficult, and took about 2 hours or so. Very straight forward, and the provided instructions were perfect. I only had trouble torquing one of the nuts because there was interference between the rear spring and my torque wrench, but that could have been mitigated if I had the proper extension. Driving Impressions: I currently have 16” wheels with CrossClimate2 tires (winter set of wheels and tires) and I have only been able to drive this in the rain. But wow is it a noticeable difference. Body roll is greatly reduced and I have much more confidence going around corners, especially on the highway. Before, if you jerked the wheel back and forth, you could feel the rear end kinda of float around. Now, it doesn’t float much at all and is pretty snappy. The reduced body roll is the main compliment I have of this product though. I installed the Front Strut Tower Bar as well, so my impressions are based on both simultaneously. I have heard that the Rear Sway Bar makes a much bigger difference though, so that is why I left a review here. I do recommend getting both though.
