2004-2013 Mazda 3 Lowering Spring Set
Description
Elevate your 2004-2013 Mazda3 aesthetics and performance with the CorkSport Lowering Springs. Your Mazda3 will benefit from enhanced turning responsiveness, sharper road feedback, a bolder look, and reduced understeer the springs provide. Although the lowering springs were initially designed for the Mazdaspeed3, the chassis remained consistent between the Speed3 and the Mazda3, which offers an OEM placement and installation of the springs. The difference between the two models was a slightly higher ride height for the Mazda3 due to its lighter weight difference.
The CorkSport Advantage
Performance Driven:
Enjoy increased performance with the CorkSport Mazda3 springs. With the lower center gravity, the Mazda 3 strikes a balance between ride quality and performance during spirited driving and corning.
We tested several different rate setups, specifically on the Mazdaspeed, settling on 3.5K front and 4.5K rear spring rates. However, the Mazda3 showed a slightly higher ride height but did not effect the overall experience of the car.
Stylish Ride Height:
The Mazda3 will benefit from a more aggressive look. Our development of the spring provided a drop for the Mazdaspeed of ~1.1” in the front and ~1.2” in the back, while the Mazda3 will sit a little higher due to the weight difference in vehicles. These values will vary slightly depending on the year, modifications, and what shock & strut setup you have.
Spring Rates & Testing:
The major change for the new and improved CorkSport springs is the spring rates. We tested a few different rate setups using natural frequency analysis before deciding on 3.5K front and 4.5K rear spring rates for the Mazdaspee3 but ride a little higher on the front for the Mazda3. This is due to the Mazda3 being lighter than the Mazdaspeed.
OEM Fitment:
The CorkSport Mazda3 Lowering Springs can be installed with OEM-like fitment without the need for any additional special parts. However, a slight modification to your bump stop will be required for the correct suspension travel, which is easy to do and is outlined in our step-by-step installation instructions.
Materials & Manufacturing:
The CorkSport Lowering Springs are constructed from high tensile strength spring steel for durability and dependable performance. Each spring is powder-coated to provide a stylish appearance and protection against corrosion. Additionally, the rear springs are equipped with spring silencers to reduce unwanted spring noise.
