Description
Give your 2004-2009 Mazda 3 immediate boosts in horsepower and torque by bringing more air into the intake chamber. Our simple to install SRI is MAF housing precision machined from billet aluminum with included air straightener. Designed to maintain optimal flow and generate ideal performance, CorkSport engineers each part with exacting tolerances and uses the latest in computer aided manufacturing techniques to make sure you get the highest quality, best performing part for your money. We have thoroughly tested this intake on both 2.0L and 2.3L engines.
The CorkSport Advantage:
- Prevent air leaks and inaccurate readings that can cause check-engine lights: The MAF sensor is secured to the housing using T304 stainless fasteners for a rock solid connection
- Durable Dry Flow Air Filter: Reusable and water resistant, this unique non-woven filter media does not require oil to filter and trap dirt and actually sheds dirt under engine vibration unlike cotton-gauze which holds contaminates until you clean the filter
- Custom reinforced silicone connector constructed from multi-layer nylon braid to provide more strength and power and a smooth internal transition for less turbulence and optimal flow
- Replacement Air Filter is: Available Here
- CorkSport Service and Support: Receive a 2 year warranty, full color installation instructions, all of the needed installation hardware, and knowledgeable telephone installation support

I bought the CorkSport short ram air intake and rain shield together. I had put off getting a "cold air intake" for years because I didn’t see the value in it. I was wrong. I'm very aware of the placebo effect, and I've been driving this car for over 10 years. I've been running a factory air box with an oiled high-flow filter, so I know my car well. After installing the intake, I immediately noticed an increase in power. It’s not a dramatic change, but there’s definitely a noticeable gain across the entire power band. Right after the install, I noticed a much smoother idle. I reset the battery and let the ECU relearn the idle before driving. Here’s how I did it: disconnect the battery to reset the ECU, start the car and let it idle for 20 minutes with the AC off, then idle for an additional 15 minutes with the AC on max, and finally, drive it. The lower end was noticeably improved right away, and it definitely revs faster with less hesitation. On the interstate at cruising speed in 5th gear, it's noticeably quicker going from 70 to 90 to pass someone. So, clearly, I might have had some serious restriction issues with the factory setup. The stock Mazda intake with its resonator is a nightmare of bends and orifices that barely provide enough airflow to meet the parameters the engineers had to work with. So far, this has been one of the best investments I’ve made for something so simple and common. And definitely get the rain shield for extra protection!

I've had her in my 2008 Mazda3 S Touring for about 2 weeks now, and I've gotta say, as someone still new to the car scene (my second modification after replacing the headlight housing... god that was horrible) and new to driving... Wow. The sound is amazing. I now always feel a need to get high RPMs just to hear that intake. It's something that brings you closer to that oneness with your car, which is worth the price even if it doesn't do much HP or mileage wise. Don't really care. Install was also very easy, did have to follow a video as well as the instructions, but unless you've got PTSD from building IKEA furniture you should be able to get it done eventually. Took 2 hours for a complete newbie. Corksport is also very quick to respond to emails during working hours. Thanks guys!

Great simple first mod, great sound while cruising as well, can’t wait to hopefully pair it with the exhaust

I bought this for the 2.0, it’s very easy to install and it sounds great. You can feel a slight power gain at the higher rpms.(1st and 2nd gear) I definitely would recommend getting it

2004 2.0 L Mazda 3 First thing I noticed was the great sound I got out of it. Acceleration feels a bit more reliable. There is some better response from this intake, but nothing insanely noticeable. I wasn't expecting much in the way of power gains so I'm very satisfied. Definitely a go-to mod if you are looking for something relatively inexpensive to improve your ride and have fun.

Will this product fit the Mazda 3 1.6L?

Great product, quick and easy to install! I just installed it today and when you stsrt up the engine for the first time it sounds so good! Lots of WOOOSH when you step on the accelerator! It does provide some power gains but they are fairly minimal (I'd say no more than 6hp) and they are mainly at the higher end of the revs(4000+). It wont make your car super fast on the street but it sounds awesome and provides better air flow to the engine.

Quality product and easy to install. It makes the 2.0 engine sound a lot better and you definitely notice the increased response and power. You won't regret this purchase.

I bought my car last year and it had an off brand cold air filter on it when I bought it, after installing the cork sport filter there was a huge increase in throttle response and overall a better sound from the engine
