CorkSport Coilover Kit for 2004 - 2013 Mazda 3 and Mazdaspeed 3

2004-2013 Mazda 3 Coilovers

Balanced Ride and Handling:

The front struts of the CS Coilovers use an inverted monotube design. What this means is the gas and oil portion of the strut is rotated 180° of a typical strut. While this may seem strange, it offers superior strength and reliability. When coupled with spherical pillow ball mounts instead of the OEM rubber mounts, you get a coilover that is ready for some serious driving

Performance Focused:

The CorkSport Coilovers use 7K front springs and 8.5K rear springs. By increasing the rear spring rate more than the front, you gain more neutral handling characteristics (less understeer) and a better ride. This setup has been carefully chosen to provide great handling without being too harsh to daily drive. We even went through frequency analysis to determine if our spring and damping rates were suitable for the street!

Appearance Boost:

While handling benefits are the main goal of the CorkSport coilovers, you get a great appearance boost as well. Lowering a car lowers its center of gravity, reduces body roll, and obviously, looks great. The CS coils offer approximately 2” of ride height adjustability, so you can really dial in how your car handles and looks. Minimum ride height drop is 0.5-0.75” lower than stock.

Adjustability for Street and Track:

Both the front and rear CS coilovers offer 15-way damping adjustability. This offers you the ability to tune your ride to your comfort and handling goals. Both the front and rear damping adjustments can be easily accessed, with no disassembly required! The front end also offers camber adjustability to really dial in your handling or wheel fitment. Up to three degrees of negative camber can be achieved.

OEM Fitment:

The CorkSport Coilover kit is a direct replacement for the OEM suspension system. This means the install is quick, easy, and does not require the use of spring compressors. We even went with studs instead of bolts for the front shock tower mounts to help with install. No permanent modifications are required however; you can choose to modify your strut towers for frequent camber adjustment.

2010-2013 Mazdaspeed 3 Coilovers

Long Lasting Durability:

All components in the system are designed to stand the test of time. All steel components are powdercoated while all aluminum pieces are anodized so you can be sure your coilovers will last as long as the rest of your car.

They are great. Feel amazing and the installing is straight forward. Not sure if they come with it or not I forget, I did mine about a year ago, but I didn’t have a spanner wrench to adjust my ride height. I had to order some from Amazon to do it. I also wish they dropped slightly more, maybe 1/2 inch lower, I’m maxed out now and still have tiny bit of wheel gap. But I’m asking for too much haha. Besides that I absolutely love em.
I had a friend install these, and being someone who knows about suspension (custom fabricator who does stage rally on the side) he liked what he saw and thought they were a good value for the price paid. These do appear to be good quality. I love the red and black (matches my theme), it's a shame these have to hide out in the wheel wells where no-one can see them.

Install went smoothly and no hiccups. My 11-year-old stock suspension gave up a while ago and failed my safety inspection (blown strut), so it was definitely due for something new, so opted to finally go the coilover route.

Driving the car with these and front and rear C/S sway bars now feels much more neutral. I still have to get the car aligned and play around with the damping settings, but already, I like the difference. If I had to compare, I'd say the ride now feels much more like my friends stock 2015 WRX, responsive and firm, but not breaking my back. I'd be curious how firm the ride is when damping is cranked all the way up to 15, but for a weekend toy, I find halfway (set at 8) to be reasonable, especially in PA, where our roads are horrendous.

I also like the ride height adjustability. I lowered the car about 0.75" lower than stock, and did bottom out in a few places that I didn't expect to. I cranked the damping up from 4 to 8, and that seems to have helped this.

My only negatives (and reason for a 4 star instead of 5 star rating) are as follows:

-No spanner wrench. Come on C/S!! This surely could have been included for the price. Matching red anodized (like another reviewer mentioned) and laser etched with the C/S logo like some other items would have been icing on the cake. Now I have to shop around and find a "universal" wrench if I wish to adjust these (my friend who did the install luckily had some old ones laying around).

-1 year warranty. For a big ticket item such as coilovers, I was hoping for something more. Don't get me wrong, I know C/S products are quality, and I'm sure these coilovers are quality as well, but a longer 2 or 3 year warranty would have given me more confidence to purchase these sooner.

All in all, I'd most likely buy these again, but just a few minor additions would make it an easy 5-star product. I'm hoping they hold up over the next few years, we shall see.
Awesome product. Install went pretty smooth (instructions are good and straight forward). When pricing all new suspension from stock, these were the most cost effective QUALITY option compared to other name brand struts and lowering springs. Even compared to CS struts and lowering springs, these give you the same dampening adjustment, plus the ride height adjustment (I live in an area with snow, so raising it for winter is a good idea) for just a little more that the strut/spring combo. Plus, they're already assembled vs having to compress springs and install new top mounts. Just makes sense!

It feels great in the twistys. It has stiffened up the suspension, and it is nosier, which is exactly what is desired and expected. It isn't too stiff that a pebble doesn't break a vertebra, but stiff enough to take corners aggressively. A great addition to a daily/track car. Dampening works and makes a difference in comfort/stiffness. Adjusting the height is easy enough (I highly suggest lifting each corner to unload the weight), but I do wish this kit would include a spanner wrench that perfectly fits it (and it would be sexy if matches the adjuster perch finish...). Being my first coilover, I didn't have a wrench, so I used a rubber strap pipe wrench just fine. Rear adjustment is super easy.

Customer service is amazing. I received an email explaining that the boot cover may have been installed incorrectly and it explained on how to disassemble the front strut and reinstall the boot correctly. However, when I received them, the boot was installed correctly. Good for them for catching it and passing the info along!

I did opt to cut out the front strut mount on the car to allow adjustment of the camber when installed. This was not an easy task. The instructions simply say to use a "bi-metal hole saw". I ended up using an electric angle grinder and air die grinder to get the holes expanded to the correct width. Trying to use a hole saw with a handheld drill on steel 1/4" just doesn't work well. That's not CS fault, but proceed knowing that it will be an uphill battle.
To put it simply these are great. I will be recommending these to everybody looking for a good daily coilover with the ability to adjust ride comfort and height. Most people will say coils aren’t comfortable but like they’re coil overs, they’re meant for performance not comfort. That being said I had blown suspension so it was time and these are actually more comfortable than the blown suspension. Also if you’re worried about doing the job yourself, you can definitely do it. Corksport provides a great step by step guide on how to install theses 10/10 product ????

Would these work for a semi-off-road application when compared to say Yellow Speed Racings Gravel/Off-road coilover kit? Goes without saying these are meant for street use but do they have the raise-ability to handle dirt roads and other fun sorts?

Im sure this is obvious but would just like to confirm. Will these fit a 2013 skyactiv?

In the installation instructions it appears that there is a rubber isolator between the stock rear top hat and the top of the strut. Is this part included? Or where do I go about acquiring it? Thanks

What is the min/max drop these support? I have a first gen MS3 and am looking for better performance and would like to maintain stock height. Will these fit the bill?
