We Need Your Feedback on Our Mazdaspeed Intake Manifold

Guys, we want your feedback on a project we’ve been working on for the past year.

We’ve shown glimpses of our Mazdaspeed intake manifold from time to time, including the one below when we had it installed on Barett’s Mazdaspeed 3, which popped up on our Facebook page—on April Fool’s—while it was being tested.

This manifold is designed to be a bolt-in. It’ll work with the stock throttle body, stock intercooler, stock you-name-it. This means if you’ve upgraded to a front mount intercooler, it’ll also work as it keeps the OEM throttle body location.

We’ve been through a few iterations of the intake manifold, and below is a picture of the latest version. We’ve changed several things in the design from the last test version, including individual ports for the runners to install meth injection.

In our testing, we’ve found spool to be 200 rpm sooner with the manifold installed. This has been shown on a 1st gen Mazdaspeed 3 equipped with the CorkSport turbocharger and a 2nd gen Mazdaspeed 3 with a GT35r installed.

We also had a peak increase in power of 17 horsepower at the wheels on the 1st gen Mazdaspeed 3 in back to back testing with the manifold.

So. This is where you the Mazdaspeed owner comes into play. We want to know: Would you buy this if we made it? Tell us your thoughts, and if you are interested, shoot us an email so we can keep you updated.

Cheers,

CorkSport

  1. Besides disabling the CEL in the ECU you could remove the solenoid from the OEM manifold and mount it allowing the car to think it was there.

  2. This was my concern: would this fix the unbalned intake ? but youre saying you get more power and you don’t have to buy anything else just slap this puppy on WOW Definitely worth it

  3. I’m interested in this product for sure! Hopefully, it will be released for pre orders this year and delivered.

  4. Well guys, I would be very interested in the intake. I’ve recently bought all of my power mods from you guys. From intake to exhaust, boost controller to turbo, map sensors to gauges. I would love to do reviews or testing on your product here in hot humid Alabama. Alot of variable change here in tha south, record highs last week and snow flurries and freezing temps this week. Alot of us with “ALABAMA SPEED CLUB” are mazda owners (all autos welcome club) and enjoy great aftermarket craftsmanship. Luke…..you know how to reach me.

  5. Is this manifold still going to be released? I’m very interested in it as it will work with with my bnrs4 cpe tmic and meth injection. All other aftermarket manifold options require the use of a fmic.

  6. Will there options like single runner, removal of IC mounting tabs, Powder coat options, etc… and will this be out by the beginning of august , i dont wana buy JMF or that plastic ST one….I need this CORKSPORT, plus i can finally put my meth kit on with this, Please release by then CORKSPORT

  7. It will be a one option manifold, single runner setup. If you want to remove the TMIC supports can can trim them off and grind the spots to match the manifold finish.

  8. YESSSS!!!!!!!! MAKE IT ill even test it out too. CORKSPORT you should just make an engine everything on or in the engine just make it haha

  9. We are working on it. Casting is very hard to get 100% perfect, and we want to make sure it is top notch before we release it to the public 🙂

  10. I am very interested in running your manifold. I am a strong corksport supporter and love your products….I will be willing to pay a few for the product to test it out as well. I am in the military stationed in fort sill, ok. I daily drive my speed3, so it will log plenty of miles fast.

    Very Respectfully

  11. Thanks for the interest. We have done plenty of testing with this product already. We are working to make sure the casting is 100% correct before we can release it to the market.

  12. So excited for this intake manifold for my Gen 1 MS3. Very happy to see Corksport is still dedicated to bringing new products to the market for these great cars. Thank you Corksport!!

  13. Yes @ $725 I would be very likely to purchase upon release.

Recently started looking into an IM upgrade, I think I like this option over the JMF or porting a stock IM. Dont care for the plate and gasket on the front of the cpe manifold. Also like the idea of keeping the stock TB location. This manifold seems to fit perfect within my plans for the car.

Would like to know if the earlier spool and hp gains were without additional tuning and if there is more to be had with additional tuning.

  14. Yes it will be a great upgrade! The additional tuning is required to increase earlier spool, and power. You might still see some of those affects, but having a good solid tune will really flush out the capabilities of the manifold.

  15. Get me one now! My genwon goes in for a full engine build on sept 8th… must have nooooowww!!!

  16. ok here’s my comment ready ok here it is you really ready
    JUST DO IT ALREADY

  17. I’m in! I have been holding out for this for some time lol…. hopefully not too much longer to wait.
